Jasus it came down in about 36 hours not to bad.

I was right about the bit in bold.

No it wasn't
West Wing = Good.
Space = Good.
West Wing in space = very good.
BSG = Muck.
Muck, not = Very good.
QED.

That's better! More disagreement please :D

The West Wing was what liberal America wanked itself to sleep to.

At least the Republiban had the formally innovative 24 to ruin the world with.
Yeah! that's pretty disagreeable. Good man!

Ashes to Ashes ended on Friday

Superb finale, tied up all the loose ends from both A2A & Life on Mars.

Both series are well worth getting.

Yeah, loved A2A and Life On Mars. Liked the way it finished as well.

Followed it up with Synth Britannia on BBC4!

Now that Lost is finished can I ask people who watched it if it is worth getting the DVDs?
Its a by-pass. You've got to build by-passes.

I am not a fan at all. But I still watched all 3. S3 gets good towards the end, so you may have seen the best bits.
It is all about the reproduction of the sets etc. That is stunning, if it floats your boat. Characters are weak and storyline is slow though.

I am sure others will disagree, and say it's Tremenjus.

Hmmmm I got Series 1 as a present.
I'd never even heard of it before I was given it.
I was never a massive fan of the Sopranos so I'm guessing I won't like this at all?

Had to check back through the thread for that one.
I was referring to Mad Men. The Sopranos has absolutely nothing in common with it at all. So liking or not liking the Sopranos (How could anyone not like it btw) Will have zero baring on liking Mad Men.
One is set in the early 60s, one is current.
One is about an ad agency, the other about gangsters.
They are both set in America is about all I could think of.
Edit. But then so are Desperate Housewives and The high Chaparal. :D

Isn't Mad Men written by the same writers who wrote the Sopranos though?
I should have mentioned that in my previous post.
I know there are no similarities in terms of style but having the same writers would have an effect on it surely?

Shows you how much I know!

I loved the Sopranos, but didn't think Mad Men was much good.

Perhaps you will have the opposite view?

I would never think of the 2 series in the same way from a writing perspective. Although perhaps it was the delivery of the dialogue from the respective casts and the direction that made the difference?

Well how wrong was I. I thought the story line was cheap way of remaking the sweeney and Juliet Bravo but Friday night was excellent. All 3 series on order and maybe Buck Rogers the pilot/movie

I've started on the Sopranos. Have watched a single episode, which was pretty good.

Season 3 ends in about a month. 8 episodes available online

Season 2 is a prequel covers the years 76 to 87. Season 3 is the bit in between.

I only started season 1 a month ago. I am now into season 3.

Each season is very different. 1st 2 are excellent. Not sure about 3 yet, only saw the 1st double one so far. A bit more populist so far. You can tell that the profile of the show has really grown between S2 and 3.

Seen 7 of season 3 now (9 out). and I have to say It's gone very tabloid. Still worth a watch but not up to season one or 2

Just finished "The Pacific". Bit of a disappointment really.

The battle scenes are done superbly as you'd expect and the sheer nastiness of the conflict is shown.

However the fact that it focuses mainly on three different characters in different parts of the conflict means you don't get enough time with each to really care about them. Band of Brothers was a lot better.

I'd completely agree with you.

Some of the battle scenes are truly horrific.

The worst scene is in Episode 9 when Sledge finds the family in the hut.
