Forgive me if this is up already.
Very handy site over the course of a year if your doing big miles.
Even handier via their free iphone app when you are out in the car (it tracks your exact location and gives you the cheapest nearby location to fill up at).

‘Travellers stuck in unfamiliar places need access to practical information as well as suggestions on what to do whilst stranded’, said Tom Hall, Lonely Planet Travel Editor. ‘That’s why we’re giving away iPhone city guides to major affected destinations.’

The 13 guides will be free until Thursday, 22 April from the iTunes app store. You can access them via the links below.
The cities included are:

Amsterdam
Barcelona
Berlin
Budapest
Copenhagen
Istanbul
London
Moscow
Munich
Paris
Rome
Stockholm
Vienna
Downloaded the lot, even though there's almost no chance of my going to Moscow, Copenhagen or Stockholm in the foreseeable future.

Ok so it's not quiet a recession busting suggestion nor indeed a Friday Rant but how about a Recession Denial- Hall of Shame.

I'll start with one that the good lady has pointed out.

Superquinn --- Peppers @ €1.39

Dunnes ---- €0.70 cent.

New restaurant called Pinot's where South used to be in Sandyford Industrial Estate. Just ate their tonight really impressed. Amazing value most main courses around the 11euro mark and restaurant quality. Free Wi-fi too and open breakfast lunch and dinner. With any luck it wont succumb to the R word.

I think it is great that they offer it, but why would someone want free wi-fi in a restaurant?

To use the internet on their smart phone. . .maybe if dining alone or if they get sick of the person they are sitting with.

Can also verify answers if an argument over something arises!

You may also need wifi to ensure UMA works on your phone if there is no radio signal.

Business breakfasts and lunch's? There is both a cafe and restaurant part so i suppose its more aimed at the cafe

Gourmet Burger Kitchen shoved a flyer through the door the other day outlining all sorts of special offer tokens.
It's actually the first piece of junk mail that I'll consider keeping.

I'm going to report that for racism, just to be on the safe side.
