I thought he was John G's older brother. The name sort of appeared out of nowhere last week but there wasn't a post just the banner saying JohnF had posted on the thread.johng wrote:Dunno. But does he live next door to me? Where did you see this handle?Oldschoolsocks wrote:Who is Johnf

Thankfully, (but maybe fearfully), French National rugby has woken from its slumber! Albeit against Samoa, Saturday's performance in an atmospheric Toulouse Stadium was like pre-2011. Lots of hard running and off-loading at pace. Giant athletic forwards with soft hands and a gargantuan scrum.
Interested to see can they keep this standard for game against Oz. French media caliing this season Guy Noves 'swansong'.

No it hasn't. Samoa were a disgrace - didn't even care enough to display any of their legendary foul play.

Re: Friday's Rave
Last night in the RDS was Friday's rave. Guys in blue, playing as they've dreamt about and trained for. A crowd who came in hope and expectation, having it delivered to them on a plate. Our grumpy, and sometimes fragile genius No 10, conducting the orchestra to a concerto grosso. Our replacement, out of position, flanker giving a display which the incumbent would have dreamed about. The kids on the outsides doing the impossible, the unthinkable, the unacheiveable, with illicit ease. And the big men, not just shifting the pianos but playing duets on them. What a night.
And now comes the hard part. Can Leo and Girve and Stuart and Foggs and Emmet and everybody else in the backroom, accept that that performance is the new baseline, not the winning line? There is the talent available to reproduce that standard of excellence, discipline and skill half a dozen more times this Season. And that's what going to be required to reap the harvest of what is deserved.
Go figure. Your best performance of the year has doubled the burden of expectation. But you have cultivated a burning, passionate, support for what your work has produced thus far. Well done the entire Leinster Camp. You made us very proud of our Club last night
