Absolutely spot on. The groupthink we endured during the boom where any criticism of the status quo was ridiculed (all the way up to the Taoiseach suggesting Morgan Kelly and his ilk kill themselves) has led us to this sorry state. We have already handed over the state to the bankers to have their unregulated way with it. It didn't work. No big surprise, a brief glance at history would have led you to the conclusion that it was a doomed experiment.
If we have learnt anything from the 20th century, and some people have, it is that theory should never be the master of empiricism. Perfect Market Theory has been an abysmal failure, an utter disgrace to its legion of trumpeters yet we still have to listen to them bleating like 1960s Maoists claiming that communism failed because it hadn't been tried fully yet.

Spot the Labour voter with a comment like that !
Beats me why you became a leader of the "Supporters Union" at that rate
Did you not hear? The OLSC is being privatised next season. Thing will run more efficiently and we'll have to pay for our flags, but it's all for the greater good!
You have to presume that by Socialist parties, Sheepshagger means Fianna Fail.
After all, in the history of the State, no other party has done so much to implement Socialist principles as Fianna Fail. The nationalising of speculative capital particularly was a stunning piece of Marxist-Leninism. Even Honecker in the DDR rolled back on that. Then when you consider that their leader considered such supposed socialists like Eamon Gilmore and Joe Higgins to have moved so far to the right from Marx's ideals that he was able to declare himself (and by implication the party) the 'only real socialist' in the Dail, there can surely be no doubt that SS wants us to stay away from the Soldiers of Destiny, and the Workers Paradise they have imposed upon us.

Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor all thanks to our good friend Che Ahern.
