As opposed to? Anyone standing for.......Fianna Fail? The ba$tard Greens that sold us into slavery?

I'd sooner have Lenin and Marx themselves!

(Even though they are both dead and not contemporaries of each other, Well Marx died when Lenin was 13)
Think i've said before there really are only two viable options IMO. . .FF or FG. . . .now back over to the election thread. . . .
I think people should vote for what they believe in Whether that's Labour, Sinn Fein, People before Profit or Coco the fockin Clown.

Otherwise there never will be a viable alternative and we will still be fighting the civil war in ANOTHER 90 years.

If every one accepts that those are the only options and No one BELIEVES, then we will never win the semi final in Croker v Munster.

Now, back to the Rugby.

Absolutely spot on. The groupthink we endured during the boom where any criticism of the status quo was ridiculed (all the way up to the Taoiseach suggesting Morgan Kelly and his ilk kill themselves) has led us to this sorry state. We have already handed over the state to the bankers to have their unregulated way with it. It didn't work. No big surprise, a brief glance at history would have led you to the conclusion that it was a doomed experiment.

If we have learnt anything from the 20th century, and some people have, it is that theory should never be the master of empiricism. Perfect Market Theory has been an abysmal failure, an utter disgrace to its legion of trumpeters yet we still have to listen to them bleating like 1960s Maoists claiming that communism failed because it hadn't been tried fully yet.

You have to presume that by Socialist parties, Sheepshagger means Fianna Fail.

After all, in the history of the State, no other party has done so much to implement Socialist principles as Fianna Fail. The nationalising of speculative capital particularly was a stunning piece of Marxist-Leninism. Even Honecker in the DDR rolled back on that. Then when you consider that their leader considered such supposed socialists like Eamon Gilmore and Joe Higgins to have moved so far to the right from Marx's ideals that he was able to declare himself (and by implication the party) the 'only real socialist' in the Dail, there can surely be no doubt that SS wants us to stay away from the Soldiers of Destiny, and the Workers Paradise they have imposed upon us.
