Hoping to do a triathlon and a few adventure races this year.
Did my first duathlon in October and was so ashamed of how unfit I was I've decided it needs to be rectified.

Hit the gym and get back down to 88kg from current 107kg and get back my 2009 level of fittness (and maybe try and get the Dublin marathon in before I turn 31 with a serious goal of one day running the marathon des sables)

Re: New years resolutions
As I didn't achieve any of my top 3 goals for 2011 I shall have to carry them over to this year...
I'll add 'run a marathon' into that, for the simple reason that I'm supposed to be running the London Marathon in April and today was day one of training. It's going to be a long 4 months...

Likewise, except my race is mid september - and, like John G - loose 2 stone befoe the summer....or frankly chances of me finishing the race are pretty slim!Slipper1 wrote:This year, I want to run in, and finish, a race of any description. preferably the one at the end of October.

I did the 100km in the Wicklow 200 last year. Think I'll go for the 200km this year. Hopefully the weather will be better

Time to drag this one out again!
Best of luck anyone setting goals for this year, work hard and achieve them, it's worth it.
