Some are ridiculously unobtainable (I want to conquer the Monroes by the time I die, so every year I stick 'walk 3 monroes' on my list. I haven't yet.), some are pyschological - be more assertive (I'm not very good at saying no. I need to be!) and procrastinate less (I'm already failing that one!), then I have the 'big' goals - there are three - find a new job (I was supposed to update my CV this holiday, but I'll start looking for a new job this week), get rid of my tummy (when I started my company just over a year ago, I bought a dress for the launch party. It's beautiful and a size 8. I look like a heffalump in it!) and make a royal iced cake.

I put my list (there are 31 goals for 2011!) on my fridge so I can always see it and I can cross things off when I do them. I also have a mid-year review.

Good luck to all those who have made resolutions this year. I hope you stick to them. 2011 is going to be a good year :D

Monroe's are relatively easy. Ben Lomond has the mountain equivalent of a motorway up it and although is hard work pretty much anyone can do it in 5/6 hours. Don't forget that lots of Monroe's are really 2 or 3 peaks in one- so one day's walk = the bagging of several Monroe's at a time.

I don't normally ascribe to the whole New Year's Resolutions idea, but this year I am absolutely determined to get a new job. We have a massive customer expo* in Germany in three weeks' time which is an appalling pain in the hole to organise. So I am ADAMANT that I won't still be here when the time to organise next year's event rolls around.

It's not even in Munich, it's in a shitty little city that's impossible to get to. And I don't even get to go!

It being the 1st of June i thought it worthwhile that this got dusted down for a progress report.

I for one have got fockin nowhere..... Although the later half of the year is more normally the time to progress but this will need to be herculean from here to October.

Well my marathon training has just kicked up a gear so I'm still on track to complete my resolution.
Caveats apply as it is entirely possible that the information contained in the above post is either an attempt at a wind-up, an attempt at a joke or just plain wrong.

This weekend, I will buy my BBQ supplies in Carrefour or perhaps fresh from the local market. I may have a nice bottle of wine to wash it all down. I will then repeat this process for approximately 18 days.

In between enjoying excellent food & excellent wine, I may go to the beach.

That is today's rave.

Worth a bump for the day that's in it.
As for mine, efforts were made but were largely unsuccessful.
Resolution shall be renewed for 2012.
