Anyone any advice on Android TV boxes?

Prices seem to go from €30 to €210. Anything I should look for?

All info thankfully received.

interested to know also.

My da got one and it is next to unusable. Decides to drop streams all the time and you lose 10 mins trying to get them back. Refuses to connect to wifi some days. Works grand on others.

He gave it to me as he couldn't figure out how to work it.

I'm trying to load an android simulator on my pc.
So far no joy but there is an app called showbox which seems to get mentioned a lot.
You can download lots of stuff with it apparently.
So the list of apps that come with a particular box would be worth checking out.
The various types of input/output too.
Most boxes like freesat or sairview all come with usb slots.
Ie the general spec

He's only 24 years older than me. And therefore a relative child. Don't let his unfamiliarity with android fool you.....

I got this

http://minix.com.hk/en/products/neo-u1

in Power City. I find it excellent - I use it mainly for streaming high def video from a server located elsewhere in the house. It has dual band wifi and gigabit ethernet, so it can handle the bandwidth and it has enough processing power to play pretty much everything I've thrown at it.

Looks the job.

You can get it on amazon for 119 sterling inc the super dee duper remote.

NEO U1 + MINIX NEO A2 Lite, 64-bit Quad-Core Media Hub for Android [2GB/16GB/4K/XBMC] and Six-Axis Gyroscope Remote. Sold Directly by MINIX® Technology Limited.

They don't ship to Ireland but you can get free UK delivery to parcel motel up north and then it is 3.95 to get it to your local pmotel.

Works out under 150 juros all in. How much is it in power city?

Lads and ladies,

I broke the aerial connector off my TV at the weekend. Is it possible to get a cable with the standard wall box connector on one end and a hdmi cable on the other to hook up the tv?

No. And if there was, what would you think that would do for you?

Connect from wall socket to HDMI socket on TV? I'm useless at this sort of thing.

It would be as useful but not as dangerous as connecting the plumbing to the electricity.

What you may want to look into is getting a digital TV box which takes in the aerial but outputs to HDMI. Not sure what this is being advertised as in Ireland, in the UK it's freeview/freesat hd.

The account has been set for two factor authentication (I.e. a code sent to a phone) but looks like your phone number hasn't been put in. If you have a work number it probably should be in the account setup

Do you have a tech team... Looks like something that might have been done centrally but not completed.

Otherwise it will be hell of Facebook support!!! Unless someone here has a workaround.

Anyone able to help with in-car music technology?

In short I can't stand Apple so have finally ditched my ipod (sorry to those that may offend) but I'm having trouble getting my new mp3 player and my car (2012 Honda Jazz) to speak to eachother properly.

Any guru's out there willing to listen to the whole saga and help with a solution (sticking with apple isn't it!)?
