I just looked it up. Bath avenue and Rathmines. So many Restaurants these days.

1n the 70s there was the Pronto Grill and 2 chippers in Ranelagh. Now there must be 30 or 40 restaurants.
Best place outside of town for grub.

Yes (rolls up sleeves for a rant....)

I know it's not open long and it was busy so they were struggling a bit - but I was very unimpressed. I went for diner food and the whole thing felt to me that it was put together by someone who read about a diner in a book and had no idea what the food should be like. Specifically - French onion soup was greasy, lots of onions but really badly seasoned, bit of toasted bread on the side and no gruyere cheese (or any cheese). Had meatloaf which tasted like sausage meat - no texture and no effort in putting it together. Was served with an insipid gravy concoction which was all wrong - no sign of a proper BBQ sauce. Came with chips which were ok but again greasy. Chicken sandwich was pretty unimpressive - no imagination in it at all. Saw the burgers - glad I didn't order one (which given what I've said already says a lot). The whole place is run based on the deep fat fryer and pre-cooked food put into ovens to reheat (it's an open kitchen so you can see what's happening) and served on cheap dishes (which must some effort to appear "authentic" but comes across as just cr@p). Took me three efforts to get a glass of water which eventually arrived after all the food was finished - I looked around and realised not one person in the place had been given a glass of water. And all of this at the cost you would expect from a decent restaurant rather than an informal diner.

Eddie Rockets across the road would be better quality and a better diner experience and better value (which says a lot). For the same quality you could go to Abrakebabra around the corner
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.

I always thought Eddie Rocket's was good but it's very pricey for what it is when you compare it to somewhere like McDonald's that pretty much does the same thing.

Greasy is one of the words that would come to mind if I thought of an American diner so maybe The Stella has actually nailed it

A good diner in the US does really good home cooking style stuff... Meatloaves, BBQ or slow cooked stuff, pie type stuff... As well as the burger and fried stuff.

But if you want a burger, there are a lot better choices than Stella in my opinion

Lol - ahhh, I get your point. It probably is - more choice anyway. Though it's been a while since I was in either
