It was the basis for large parts of the IMO very underrated Thomas Jane Punisher movie.

I actually really enjoyed that. I dont know anybody else who did though.

The video game that came out on the PS2 was very enjoyable too. I loved sticking grenades in the baddie's mouths and running away.

Would've been a great without John Travolta, otherwise enjoyable.

Not a bad film, much better than the Green Lantern which I saw tonight.

Jeez I left the board for a couple of days with the mere mention of a comic thread only to return to a 3 page thread of joy!

The only series I really got into to (2000AD aside coz I stole them from my bro) was Preacher. I didn't back then and I don't now have the financial means to commit to a fully fledged series that will last for years and years. So I prefer mini series comics.

On of my favourites was Sleeper. That's one series I continually go back and read again and again.

Also...not a fan of the online / smart phone readers. When I'm reading I want the visceral feeling of the comic in my hand!

This, +1, I concur, agreed, and then some!

Not a snobbish thing, but i do like to hold onto the comics too. Like downloading anything onto any device- it might be struck out in a deletion fest or lost due to hardware redundancy. Also, Smart reader/phone devices are useless for swatting insects!

I get giddy with excitement every time I see that trailer. The graphics in that trailer are unbelieveable, even as far as trailers go these days.

There's a part of Arkham city where you play as catwoman too, which I find a bit odd. Nice trailer though ...

Meh didnt like Arkham but then Im not a super hero fan. Those series that last fr decades and have so many diffferent 'verses thats its nie on impossible to keep up.

Picked it up last week and really enjoyed it. Its done Memento style, Some nice twists and turns and really came from a place i didn't expect but still left me feeling a little unsatisfied.

Also picked up a book called The Filth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Filth_(comics) and it was totally a book + Cover + judgement call that didnt give me any nice results. Artwork was way too busy (kinda like League of extraordinary gentlemen) and the text was hard to follow but the story was very interesting.

Anyways I'm on the lookout for more to read... suggestions?

Always found Chris Westons work to be difficult alright, Indigo Prime was odd enough without his help!

Kevin O'Neill (LXG) is a genius though.

I think genius might be a little strong. I prefer the artwork to be cleaner and more minimal! Actually Mark Millar's "Chosen" which was drawn by Peter Gross was probably one that really suckered me into Dark Horse comics. its a 3 ep mini series about a kid of about ten who realises he is the messiah. Brilliant charming read.

Any update from the world of Frank Miller regarding new Sin City books, would love to see some more stories come out of Basin City.

As for the Dread pic, looks like they're focusing on some of the earlier prints for the style of Mega-City One's uber Dirty Harry. Very large helmet and skinny uniform much more cyber punk looking then the Stallone beefcake offering (actually have a soft spot for the Stallone one, they tried!)
