Led Zepplin are the only one I can think of

A good call. I assume you are going with 1 - IV in which case I'll stick with the Stones because Exile is a double album I never really took to Houses of the Holy, but Physical Graffiti is immense.

Led Zepplin are the only one I can think of

I guess it depends what you're into.

Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall are all classics
The first five by Black Sabbath, Metallica and Iron Maiden are also all considered classics.
I'm no fan of our own U2, but October, War, Unforgettable fire and Joshua Tree was probably as good a consecutive output as most.
I also reckon you could include and four consecutive Miles Davis records from the earlier part of his time at Columbia (my favoured period of his) and I'll finish by offering you Sinatra from 68-70 with Cycles, My Way, A Man Alone and Watertown.

Anything like this can only be subjective - all taste is.

I don't think Animals stacks up to the other three Floyd albume. I'll take your word on Sabbath, Metallica and Iron Maiden as I never got into any of them.

I'll disagree strongly on U2. I find October & War unlistenable. I would consider a run of Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum, Achtung Baby and Zooropa though

I've tried to listen to Miles Davis but just don't get it. Same with John Coltrane.

This is turning into at least a four pint discussion (or a deleted scene from High Fidelity)

The Beatles devised, wrote and directed a television film called Magical Mystery Tour which was broadcast on BBC Television at Christmas, 1967
Even before Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, had hit the shops, the idea of the programme had been born and work had commenced on the title track.
It was decided that the soundtrack for the programme would be released on two seven inch discs which would be packaged with a booklet in a gatefold sleeve. The booklet contained stills from the show along with a comic strip telling the story. A lyric sheet was also stapled into the centrespread of the booklet. The EP was a runaway success and reached no. 2 in the UK singles chart, held off the top spot by their own single... "Hello, Goodbye".
In the US, the double-EP format was not considered viable so instead, Capitol Records created an album by placing the six songs from the EP on side one of an album and drawing side two from the titles that had appeared on singles in 1967. These titles were "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Penny Lane", "All You Need Is Love" - their anthem that had been broadcast around the world via Satellite in June. "Baby, You're A Rich Man" and their current single, "Hello, Goodbye". The US release made # 1 in early January 1968 and stayed there for eight weeks. Its initial chart run lasted 59 weeks
!967 had certainly been a year of great achievement but it was also tinged with sadness. Brian Epstein, The Beatles' manager since 1961 passed away on 27th August, 1967 at the age of 32.
The US configuration for Magical Mystery Tour was later adopted by many other countries (including the UK in 1976). When the Beatles catalogue was first issued on Compact Disc in 1987, Magical Mystery Tour joined the core list of titles.

Its a marginal call. It represents their body of work between Pepper and the White Album but doesn't appear to have been a UK LP at the time.

As DC says It was released as a double ep and then some months later had other material tacked on to make up an album. If you were to insist on including it I'm perfectly happy with that! Yellow Submarine broke the sequence but then there was Abbey Road a little later, the whole series taking a touch under 4 years. No-one else has a collection of work to compare.

Megadeth, touring with Lamb of God and Children of Bodom - with Sylosis as the undercard, coming to the 3Arena on 9 Nov. I'm not sure about Sylosis, but the other three bands will all be touring new albums.

The new Iron Maiden album (The Book Of Souls) is an absolute gem. It's hard to think it's been 5 years since their last studio offering. On first listening, I'm hearing lots of Powerslave and some Piece of Mind, maybe some Somewhere in Time. Definitely old-school influences with some Eastern melodies interwoven. Gonna give this a second spin before bed, but I think it'll be a long time till this comes off the turntable. A peach of a record

Motorhead's new offering last week and Slayers to come on the 11th - I'm rather enjoying myself.

The Motorhead passed me by - I didn't even realise it was out. Is it worth picking up?

I'll reserve judgement on Repentless till I hear it, but the few tunes that have been made available aren't to my palate. I loved everything they did until Seasons In The Abyss, and I love God Hates Us All, but the rest I'd consider disposable. I'll give it a few spins next weekend and see

I'd say yes it is - I think I was expecting more and was a bit disapointed but its a solid release and I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Slayer are a bit hit and miss for me. I thought i'd have a punt on this while I was splurging.

Cheers for that. I'll listen to Motorhead on YouTube and maybe pick it up then. I'll defo be buying the Slayer and giving it plenty of chance! Children of Bodom's new one will be out early October. That promises to be immense. All in all a great couple of months

I'll reserve judgement on Repentless till I hear it, but the few tunes that have been made available aren't to my palate. I loved everything they did until Seasons In The Abyss, and I love God Hates Us All, but the rest I'd consider disposable. I'll give it a few spins next weekend and see

On a not totally unrelated point, have you heard the Testament cover of Powerslave. I didn't think it was possible to love Alex Skolnick's playing anymore than I did, but that solo is f##king awesome
