Re: The Good Album Thread
Currently listening to Bowie At The Beeb, well worth picking up the BBC recordings of older artists as in a lot of cases the BBC had superior recording equipment to the studios where the artists would record their albums and the BBC sessions for these tend to have fuller, richer, deeper sounds. Really pick up on the detail in the recordings. Great stuff.

Version of supermen on that collection is brilliant.TerenureJim wrote:Currently listening to Bowie At The Beeb, well worth picking up the BBC recordings of older artists as in a lot of cases the BBC had superior recording equipment to the studios where the artists would record their albums and the BBC sessions for these tend to have fuller, richer, deeper sounds. If you like NIN it's worth checking out the soundtracks to The Social Network and Drive. Trent Reznor did the Social Network soundtrack and there are a few tracks on Drive with his touch as well. Obviously it's quite different to his day job with NIN.Peg Leg wrote:Just started listening to Nine Inch Nails recently- Fragile (Left) is fuppin great!

I'm not one for reading inlay sleeves or immersing myself in a bands history, evidently I probably should.

Neither am I, I just happen to absorb useless knowledge like a sponge.it's a skill that's not useful in real life, handy in a pub quiz but my mates won't let me play Buzz with them ever. I'm not kidding, I'm actually not allowed play because I'll just win.Peg Leg wrote:Did not know Trent Reznor was in NIN, I have both of those soundtracks.

Do any of your "friends" drive a neon blue BMW?
On the music thing- I also cant stand music videos and i cannot sit through a concert DVD! It all seems a bit pointless!

Reznor wasn't 'in' Nine Inch Nails, he pretty much was Nine Inch Nails.Peg Leg wrote: Did not know Trent Reznor was in NIN, I have both of those soundtracks.

I would speculate you are possibly the only person in the world to know who Reznor was who didn't know he was Nine Inch Nails's main man.
So that makes you kind of unique......

My musical career actually overlapped with the aforementioned band, for several years in fact.Donny B. wrote:I'm amazed your old ass has even heard of Elvis!johng wrote:Nine inch who?Donny B. wrote: Reznor wasn't 'in' Nine Inch Nails, he pretty much was Nine Inch Nails.
