Ger Gilroy was the original presenter and he did a fine job back in the day. Newstalk will do okay with him back for the interim.

You'd have to imagine Eoin McDevitt will be snapped up fairly quickly. Hes a quality quality broadcaster.

Gilroy is fine and does the Weekend Sports show, but the crack between McDevitt, Murphy and Ken is what I'll really miss.

This is just from twitter, but seemingly Newstalk staff were told that they wanted to move the show to Hook's prime time slot and management refused.

RTÉ2FM just started a new music and sports show which has some live commentary and updates and so on. It'd be a big move for them to dump that and insert the OTB guys instead. TodayFM, 98Fm and FM104 are all owned by DO'B so I can't see him just allowing them onto another of his stations in competition with Newstalk.

Where are they going to go? They can't just fade away. It was the only radio show I listened to and Irish radio will be much the poorer without them.

Can't see the show being as good if they move to RTE. no way they could maintain same editorial control. Also there'd be no time for other sports with all of the GAA coverage they'd have to squeeze in :(

Bit of an OTT reaction to ROG being dropped.

i cant see them going anywhere but RTE given DOB's control...they'd be rubbish on RTE as the powers that be/de GAA would ensure that at least 80% of the show was on GAA and they'd probably force Des Cahill in on the show...bad news.

Wow, Newstalk have really shot themselves in the foot, killed the goose that laid the golden egg and committed sundry other instances of self-harm.

Those lads are pure f*cking gold. Wherever they're going, I'm changing the dial for them.

Stunned and rightly pissed off.
Show will for certain be a lesser offering without them and a re-hash elsewhere will be hard to match what they've built up.

The GRIEF!!!!!

Hope these guys get a show soon and as a team with the same format. They wanted to start the show at 6pm, but management decided to keep Hook at that time. I hope they have something else lined up and that's why they left as a team.

Nice intro to tonight's show by Ger Gilroy, said he will miss his friends and wishes them well. Fair play to him.

That's the thing, where can they go? RTE don't hire outside producers, and two of the 5 that walked were the producers ,you have to be rte trained or some bullshit and i cant see the other 3 wanting to do a show with marty morrissey /Dec Cahill & Jimmy f%~king Mcgee forced on them.

It's a real shame. I hope they had/have something lined otherwise some very talented guys are unemployed due to negotiates backfiring big time. Really pissed about this. Loved the show. Not a fan of Gilroy & David McIntyre, can tolerate at weekends if talking rugby but no way would i tune in nightly

Can't see it sure they canned The Italk show that McDevitt hosted so cant see how they could run a nightly show with all of them.

Properly devastated by this. The best show on Irish radio and the coverage they gave all sports was fantastic. Simply won't be the same show without them

Hope to see them back in some shape or form but I don't see where they could go from here. Sad day.
The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

This is worse than the day that Johnny took the horse to France.
Noel Reid and James Rodriguez were separated at birth.
