I was all ready to type up a "please let this go" rant of a post when I saw there'd been fresh activity on this topic then, to my bemusement/delight, I read the last page :D .

BTW you should throw some bacon bits in with the cabbage and onions. Obviously.
The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Kimchee. The finest cabbage there is. Fermented in the ground over the winter.

Put it in a potato cake, braise it, stir-fry it, pickle it, use decoction, stew it, make soup and deep fry it (crispy seaweed).

Sometimes after a long shitty day there is great solace in the Lunacy that is Leinsterfans

Only we could get to teeth brushing, water meters, cabbage and bacon from last weekends drama

Fellow posters - I salute you. When things get weird, and the law is an ass, let's get surreal!!

Boiled cabbage is the work of the devil. I can eat it raw, sauteed or as sauerkraut, but cabbage boiled into submission makes me gag.

There's nothing worse that the favoured food of the GAA supporter....yes the carvery. 2 slices of meat covered in 5 varieties of potato (boiled, roast, mash, new & chips), with diced sloppy root veg and ladles full of soggy cabbage that's been boiled into submission over 3 hours and then put in a tin container to sweat. Usually the plate comes complete with scaffolding to hold this mound of horrible mush in place..........oh and a pint of milk.

....I like boiled cabbage. You have to 3/4 cook it though and put some butter and pepper on it. Let is rest for a minute or two and Bob's your uncle!
