Just wanted to pay my respects to Jeff Hanneman, who passed away in a California hospoital yesterday. Hanneman was a guitarist who has inspired many generations of musicians and someone who's music has had a tremendous impact on my life.
R.I.P. Jeff - you'll be sadly missed.

Heavy words are so lightly thrown
Re: Jeff Hanneman
Jeff compared to the rest of Slayer probably got overlooked in some regards, when you have Kerry's wailing pinched harmonics and Tom's rumbling vocals and Dave's drums. Dear God, those drums, but it was Jeff that tied it altogether and helped make Slayer something truly unique. RIP Jeff.

Very sad. I've just dusted off Reign in Blood, south of heaven and seasons in the abyss ( no iTunes back then!). Wife and kids are a bit scared!
Re: Jeff Hanneman
My mate dekko (not Deco from the forum) who some of you may know from away trips, almost died of it a few years ago. Scary flesh eating disease. Big lump of his chest and side missing. Lucky (and unlucky at the same time) man.fourthirtythree wrote:Necrotising fascitis... it's like a disease got to name itself.

The spider bite was 2 years ago.
He died of liver failure from drinking himself to death.
