I traditionally use the 'view new posts' function on LF.com

Recently it hasn't been getting rid of the posts / threads I haven't read and there are lots and lots of threads on the page.

I haven't changed settings, in fact I don't think I've gone into settings for years.

Anyone know how to help me with this urgent problem? Thanking you.

View unread posts is working fine for me. I'm not sure what the difference is between that and New Posts.

Yeah, do you not want "View unread posts"? View new posts just shows all recent posts (i.e. a list of threads that have had posts recently). Where as unread posts just shows treads you haven't caught up on. Both work as expected for me (though I only ever use the unread posts).

The difference is "new posts" gives you the posts in order of appearance. "unread posts" gives you all posts that you havent read leaving out any gaps where you read some a few days ago.

Only thing is if you read the forum without logging in, all posts that you read remain "unread" when you next log in.

I've always used 'view new posts' & that brings up all threads that have had new posts since my last visit. It has (I think) in the past left out those threads I've read, that didn't have new posts.

Now, the threads that don't have new posts remain on the page.

Not to worry, thanks for the replies, there are other more pressing issues in the world!

If you look down the bottom of the list there will be one you haven't read.

Read it and the next time you log on all the ones in between will have disappeared.

I've noticed this too, seems to have happened in the last week or so.

The e-mail notifications are also kinda haphazard, but again, there are bigger issues to deal with.

That's what used to happen, now the read ones remain.
