Paris attacks 13-11-2015
My deepest sympathy to all our French brothers and sisters on this night of senseless, evil carnage.

Me too, I just don't know what to say

It's the thought that counts and that thought has to be expressed some way.Hippo wrote:Exactly, there are no words.
"Sorry for your troubles" is often used to express a much deeper felt sympathy.

Racing v Glasgow game postponed.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

Looks like all the games being held in France have been postponed according to the EPC website. Thoughts are with those involved in the terrible atrocity in Paris.blockhead wrote:Racing v Glasgow game postponed.

I don't know if it's because we've been there so many times or if social media has made it more real/info more accessible but there's a sense of shock from this among my mates that I don't remember feeling for any other atrocity. Just thinking of all those times we've had great nights going for dinner/drinks in Paris and to think that that's all people went out to do last night and never came home. Can't get my head around it.
Just awful.

Still at shock and anger stage. Thankfully no one I know over there was hurt, but they are with the nation in mourning.
Disgusting atrocity.

Very long article here about ISIS and how it's different to Al Qaeda.

Maybe a tad harsh on Islam. But the concept of apostasy(why Daesh kills innocent people) is really medieval and Islam like other religions (like christianity) needs to divorce itself from it.

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

That article is a clusterfuck of stupid. Don't waste your time.
I'm amazed that it gets trotted out so often.

You could say that very same thing about half the interpretations of the Quran. Any article on a religion as fluid as Islam leaves itself open.fourthirtythree wrote:I'm amazed that it gets trotted out so often.

Saw a thing somewhere which stated Islam is as old today as Christianity was during the crusades. Made for a thought-provoking read on the "maturity" of religion.paddyor wrote:Very long article here about ISIS and how it's different to Al Qaeda.
