On the PM issue, I agree with the fact that PM's should be kept private. But when someone breaks the rule on non-abusive PM's they lose that right in my view.

There's nothing in the forum rules relating to the "re-posting" of PMs publicly on the forum.

Personally, I don't agree with it being done, as I think that all communications that are conducted "in private", should remain that way, unless the involved parties all agree that the messages should be made public (as per Sooks comments)

It is my intention to update the forum rules over the next couple of weeks (nothing too draconian, honest ;)), and this is definitely something that I will consider adding.

If people think that a PM they have received is abusive, as per the forum rules, they should bring it to the attention of the Moderators / Administrators.

Pootle, I understand that at least one of the yes votes was accidental, ie the poster meant to vote no. Of course in the spirit of respect for privacy which pervades this thread I couldn't possibly post the muppet's name publicly.
I got a little confused ok.....

Thanks for the feedback guys, for a while, I thought it was just me.

Posting PM's in the public domain without the express written permission of the original sender is a serious no-no.

As has been said if a contretemps with an individual escalates into unwanted heated PM's they should be flagged to the mod's immediately to tackle the individual/s.

One warning and then out permanently would be my rule if it's personal abuse...
