Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
So Greystones have run away with J4A1.
It's squeeky bum time for Terenure & Clontarf in J4A2 with both teams hoping Coolmine & Clondalkin do them favours next weekend.
J4B1 sees the top 4 face off and decide which of the top two win the league.
J4B2 sees top of the table DLSP host DU, who are 4 points behind.
J4C is the interesting one. Any one of 3 teams are still in with a chance of winning the league but unless Unidare do Marys & Railway a huge favour, it'll probably be Parkmore who win this.

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Cup draw is out too. I see there is no Greystones entry? Have the branch taken a stand with these guys?

Having being run over by that massive Parkmore pack last week (still counting the bruises), I'd be amazed if Unidare can stop them.uncle fester wrote: J4C is the interesting one. Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Yes,Greystones not allowed in to J4 cup.
Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Think it's the same with Terenure not being allowed into the J5 cup, and Kilkenny going into the J5 cup having played J4 this year.
Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
There are two terenure teams in the draw, the normal J4 team and the J5 team.

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Normans should really have been in J5 league this year and the branch did them an injustice sticking them in J4C.waterboy wrote:Think it's the same with Terenure not being allowed into the J5 cup, and Kilkenny going into the J5 cup having played J4 this year.
Marys have 2 J4 teams but only one is in the draw. I call shenanigans. Guinness and Coolmine are both free in the first round and could give the second Marys team a game.

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Totally agree complete shenanigans! Can't understand how
the guy making the decisions can let a team who are contenders
to win a J4 league can then be dropped down to a J5 cup.
Also how did the other J5 teams agree to it?

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Eh? Kilkenny Normans were the J4 team dropped down and they didn't win a match all season. In fairness wrote:Totally agree complete shenanigans! Can't understand how

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Eh Donny? Maybe you didn't notice Mary's J4 b team also dropped out of the J4 cup!
Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
But the Marys J4b haven't dropped down to the J5 cup. The Normans are the team who played J4, but the branch are putting them into the J5 cup as they should never have been in the J4 league this year at all.In fairness wrote:Eh Donny? Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
From what Uncle Fester said, Marys weren't allowed to put two teams in the J4 cup for some reason. In fairness wrote:Eh Donny? Maybe you didn't notice Mary's J4 b team also dropped out of the J4 cup!
However Marys did have a separate team in the J5 league and that should be the team competing in the J5 cup.

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
I cannot understand why they wouldn't be allowed to have 2 teams,
that wouldn't make sense as both Barnhall and Terenure have 2 teams entered.
Can't see their J4 B squad being happy at not being able to compete in
any cup. I suggest that the majority of their J4 B squad will appear in the
J5 cup and I find that unfair on the J5 teams that have competed in the league
all season.

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
It seems strange that both Barnhall and Terenure can have two teams in the J4 Cup but that Mary's aren't allowed. This seems very unfair on the other J5 teams, given that Mary's are essentially dropping a higher level team down to strengthen their J5 Cup team. What is the position on player eligibility for the cup? Would most of the Mary's player be cup tied from playing in the J4 league? In fairness wrote:I cannot understand why they wouldn't be allowed to have 2 teams,

Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
My understanding is that if a player has played 6 or more matches at a higher level then he is ineligable. I'm sure teams in the J5 cup will keep a close eye on this, unless the guy making the decisions as got them regraded!
Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
As expected Parkmore won 30-12 today and win the J4 C championship. Congrats!Donny B. wrote:Having being run over by that massive Parkmore pack last week (still counting the bruises), I'd be amazed if Unidare can stop them.uncle fester wrote: J4C is the interesting one. Re: J4 Rugby Metro League
Absolutely agree, congrats to Parkmore! And well done to the LB competitions who have reinstated the Mary's J4b into the Winters cup! Glad to see the Chairman might have made a mistake...or 2!!

Oh I didn't hear that. Good to see sense prevailing. In fairness wrote:Absolutely agree, congrats to Parkmore! And well done to the LB competitions who have reinstated the Mary's J4b into the Winters cup! Glad to see the Chairman might have made a mistake...or 2!!
