The draw has been made for this years towns cup:

PROVINCIAL TOWNS CUP DRAW (ties to be played on Sunday, 31st January): Tullow v Portarlington, Co. Carlow v Cill Dara / Tullamore, Roscrea v Newbridge, Enniscorthy v Swords, Skerries v Athy, Clane v Wexford Wanderers, Rathdrum v Arklow, Longford v Gorey, Wicklow v Naas, Kilkenny v Dundalk, Clondalkin v Navan, Portlaoise v Edenderry, North Kildare v New Ross, Mullingar v Ashbourne

No real big clashes, Dundalk away to Kilkenny could be tricky.

Carlow v Cill Dara/ Tullamore - how does that work? Is there a preliminary round between CD and Tullamore 1st?

Tullow v Port could be interesting. Port going well in D2.

It depends on how Tullamore get on in the AIB Junior Cup semi final, if they qualify they get a bye as the final is on the same weekend as the first round. If they dont Cill Dara get a bye based on their league position (which was the original criteria).

No value in 5/2 for Boyne given the nature of the PTC.

Dundalk 2nd favourites? If Kilkenny can finally make their size count they'll run Dundalk close on Sunday.

Cill Dara worth a punt esp as have a bye into the 2nd round.

Good luck to all at the weekend. God I love the Towns Cup.

I saw Kilkenny at the weekend. It will be an interesting barometer to see how Dundalk fair in foulkstown this weekend. The final score might give us an idea of the difference in standard between 1A and 1B. If Dundalk are serious about the towns cup they will easily overcome the Killkenny challenge. Some of the teams from 1 B could go well. If Portarlington can transfer their League form to the cup they might ruffle a few feathers. Tullow Port is the tie of the round.

Athy produce the shock of the round with a 16-11 away win against Skerries, well done  .

Wexford also produced a bit of a shock beating Clane in Clane.

Fair play to Athy, winning is a habit and skerries don't have it. Shows in one off games there isn't a huge amount between the levels with these 2 scores and tullow and new ross not getting it all their own way against lower opposition too.

any idea if the draw is on newstalk today?? seem to be only doing soccer at the min,
