Some really interesting results especially in division 1b. every losing team in the division lost by 6 points. Should be an interesting season with a lot of tough games. Watched the Cill dara and ashbourne game which was an extremely physical encounter. Ashbourne must have lost about 10 of there own line outs which the 2 cill dara tries came from. They had their 8 throwing in for some reason. Very enjoyable game anyway with the better team coming through (just about).

LL1A
Coolmine 19 - 10 Dundalk
Enniscorthy 29 - 8 Garda
Newbridge 36 - 25 Skerries
Tullamore 10 - 5 Monkstown
Some interesting results from the weekend. Tullamore bounced back from their defeat last week to best Monkstown. Coolmine also secured their first win of the league campaign beating Dundalk although rumour has it it's not a happy camp over Askbrook way. Enniscorthy continue their great start to the league beating Garda as do Newbridge who beat Skerries with both teams securing winning bonus points. Although early in the campaign Saturday nights match between Newbridge and Enniscorthy has all the makings of a great match and should give us an idea who is the stronger of the 2 early leauge leaders.

Prizes go to Barack and Hands Away.

I was at the Longford/Portlaoise game. Nothing much to report other than Longford deserved the victory. Portlaoise played with 14 men for 20 mins in first half after 2 yellows.

Entertaining game, well reffed and played in the right spirit with just a hint of aggro.

Its still very early on in the season and I wouldn't dare make a prediction as to who is going to win 1A yet, but looking at the results so far I'm wondering:
-Dundalk were surely one of the favourites based on experience, previous results, etc but they have lost their 1st 2 games- whats goin on? Started the 09/10 season (as far as I remember) in similar fashion, but they cannot afford this if they are to be serious contenders.
-Well done to the new boys Enniscorthy, and Newbridge- both good starts. 'Scorthy have a strong, young team from what I've seen of them and 'Bridge obviously not affected by the loss of players as previously posted. Can they both continue this?
As for the coming weekend

1A
Monkstown Skerries Away win
Dundalk Tullamore Away win
Garda Coolmine Away win
Newbridge Enniscorthy Home win

1B
Wicklow Ashbourne Away win
Portlaoise Tullow Away win
Co Carlow Longford Home win
Cill Dara Clondalkin Home win

1a newbridge have made a great start fair play to them, doesnt get any easier though, theyve coolmine next too, imagine that will be a great game probably high scoring too. have garda lost any of the side that got them up or are they just finding the going tough?

1B looks like it will be a cracker this year, 7/8 matches have had losing bonus points. seems to be 8 even enough matched teams, that could all beat each other on their day. wouldnt like to call it but looking at the very early league table this weekend the top 4 all play each other and the bottom 4 play each other, might give us an early indication.

2a malahide, seem to be the team on the up, reckon it will be between them and kilkenny, maybe portarlington too. Clane seem to be all over the place, whats happening there?

2b ATHY, that is all.

Very surprised that Carlow got the better of Tullow. Then again Carlow always did get thebetter of them back in the day.
As usual 1B will be a very close run thing. Wicklow on a bit of a charge. This weekend will tell a lot. Tallow have to beat a fancied Cill Dara to stay in touch and ditto Wicklow against Carlow. I'm going with the "wood" on both counts. That's Beechpark and Oakpark respectively.
