Leinster League 1

Boyne v Cill Dara
Cill Dara's front unit have lost 2 key players, big ask, have some players returning, home win away bonus

Enniscorthy v Monkstown
Comfortable away win

Garda v Portlaoise
Portlaoise need is greater, away win

Kilkenny v Tullamore
Kilkenny look in free fall, away win

Mullingar v Navan
Horrible place to visit, home win away bonus

Naas v Skerries
Naas have added a bit of an edge to their pack, home win

Seapoint v Dundalk
Best side in the league, comfortable win for Seapoint maybe a bonus as well

Division 2

Coolmine v Ashbourne
Home win, were a young side last year, years experience will have brought him on..

New Ross v Athy
Athy never travel well, home win

Newbridge v Roscrea
The biggest talkers in the league Newbridge entertain a tough Roscrea side, home side to finally walk the walk, home win away bonus

North Kildare v Wicklow
NK's hosie cup form is not good, away win, home bonus

Portarlington v Railway Union
Is this a relegation battle already, Port though look as if they have put their early season form behind them, home win

Division 3

Longford and Balbriggan to win on the road, have to fancy home wins in all the other games[/u]

Loosing Chris Moore and Liam O Grady is a massive blow for Cill Dara it also highlights their limitations with no plan b and a severly weakened forward pack it could be a long  couple of weeks for the lads.. Go on Longford!!! :D

Three tries from the boys in the last ten minutes

Naas 46 Skerries 0
Seapoint 31 Dundalk 14
Boyne 16 Cill Dara 15
Enniscorthy 8 Monkstown 6
Garda 18 Port L 10
Kilkenny 8 Tullamore 25
Mullingar 17 Navan 43

Cannot beleive the Skerries result. Are they really that bad?

Coolmine 13 Ashbourne 24
New Ross 11 Ahty 9
Newbridge 10 Roscrea 13
North kildare 13 Wicklow 19
Portarlington 32 Railway Union 19

North Kildare acquited themselves well against a very good Wicklow outfit. Roscrea's good result against Newbridge puts them in good stead to mount a campaign to return to Division One. Things don't look as good for Coolmine, who got a try and conversion with the last play of the game to put a gloss on the scoreboard. Athy did well on their travels to get a bonus point, with Portarlington doing as you'd expect.

A few interesting results - Division Two is very much up in the air.

Christ that is some fall from grace for Skerries but what about Monkstown, a defeat away in Enniscorthy. There were talks of a merger with Lansdowne, could be getting closer than we think. Also what's going on down in Touger, 3 games and no wins for Potlaoise.

Cill Dara missed a conversion in injury time to win the game against Boyne. It was a tremendous defensive effort from Cill Dara who were missing a couple of big guns and lost their out-half just after half-time, Boyne deserved their win imho. Could be an interesting tussle between Seapoint, Naas and Boyne.

Division 2, Newbridge season looks like it finished with their Hosie Cup win over Cill Dara, that should have been the start but their old failings come back to haunt, maybe they should re-examine their foreign player policy!!! Two good away wins for Roscrea and Wicklow.

Longford look good in Division 3.

Dissappointing result yesterday for Newbridge big time left three points behind us. But with Roscrea going to be one of the big contenders for promotion was always going to be tight. But as the tinker said to his mickey we'll rise again. Big game next week against Railway. Skerries could be in a relegation battle.

Division Two

Ashbourne v North Kildare

North Kildare put up a good show against Wicklow, but after Ashbourne's fairly convincing win at Coolmine, the home team would have to be considered favourites.

Athy v Portarlington

Portarlington ran in the scores last weekend, so favouring an away win here.

Railway Union v Newbridge

Two teams who didn't preform last weekend. Home win methinks, but for no good reason.

Roscrea v Coolmine

The two relegated Divsion One teams squaring up here. They had differing fortunes last weekend, and one is inclined that Roscrea will be too much for Coolmine.

Wicklow v Edenderry

Not sure what to expect from Edenderry. North Kildare ran Wicklow close last weekend, I'd expect Edenderry to do the same.

Leinster League 1

Cill Dara v Navan

Have to fancy a home win here, away bonus

Dundalk v Naas
Naas to squeeze an away win, home bonus

Garda v Tullamore

Tullamore I think have flattered to deceive, Home win away bonus

Monkstown v Mullingar

Can't see anything but a home win

Portlaoise v Boyne

If Portlaoise don't win this they're offically in trouble, home win away bonus

Seapoint v Enniscorthy

Ony one result here, home win and bonus

Skerries v Kilkenny

A relegation battle already, home win

Division Two

Ashbourne v North Kildare

have to fancy the home team, away bonus though

Athy v Portarlington

Midlands derby game, sneaky feeling for Athy, Home win away bonus

Railway Union v Newbridge

Ex-Bridge coach Derek Dowling entertains an old club, he'll be well aware of Newbridges' frailities, home win away bonus..

Roscrea v Coolmine

Home win and bonus

Wicklow v Edenderry

With Johan Taylor coaching Edenderry will be interested to see how they cope, expect Wicklow to have too much, home win away bonus.

Leinster League 3

Hard to see beyond all home wins although CYM could get a win in Athboy, Longford v Clane will be interesting, if Longford are to be serious challengers they'll have to win this one...

Weekends predictions

Post by kiruna »

Leinster League 1

Cill Dara v Navan
Would pick Navan in this one.

Dundalk v Naas
Dundalk to win.

Garda v Tullamore
Garda seem to be going well this year....

Monkstown v Mullingar
Think Monkstown lost their chance last year, Mullingar to sneak a win.....

Portlaoise v Boyne
Boyne to keep up their winning streak, but Portlaoise will be really up for it to avoid a nightmare start to the season......

Seapoint v Enniscorthy
Seapoint to win

Skerries v Kilkenny
Skerries don't seem to be able to score, KK to win.......

Division Two

Ashbourne v North Kildare
Ashbourne to take this one.....

Athy v Portarlington
Repeat of Cup game a few weeks back, Port to take it.....

Railway Union v Newbridge
Think Newbridge are a better team than they are showing, but the RU pitch may tip things in the home teams favour. NB to win though.....

Roscrea v Coolmine
Roscrea to win this one at home.......

Wicklow v Edenderry
Long way to travel, Wicklow to win........

If only I could find a bookies with Leinster League odds? My subjective views of Cill Dara aside, I only called the Skerries game incorrectly. Cill Dara were abject against Navan and our back play was abysmal, could be a long season..

As for Newbridge, what the hell is going on there? Relegation from Division 2 would be a nighmare.....

Big win for Longford in Division 3 and a big win for Rathdrum away...

Some more interesting results from Division Two

Ashbourne 30 -19 NK

It would seem NK came back into it, as they were 24-9 at half-time. Ashbourne seem to be a far better proposition this year round that last year.

Athy 24-3 Portarlington

Port blow cold, and get thumped by the newboys.

Railway Union 27-16 Newbridge

What is going on Newbridge way indeed. This could be a long season for them. Very good win for Railway.

Roscrea 32-22 Coolmine

2 out of 2 for Roscrea, 0 out of 2 for Coolmine.

Wicklow 41-0 Edenderry

After struggling to put away NK last weekend, Wicklow establish their Division Two title creditinals.

Groundhog,

Big win indeed for Longford with lenght of pitch last minute try. L'ford dominated for most of game but let Clane in for two tries.

Did not go down well with Clane who allegedly did not applaud the Longford team off the pitch!!!

That Portarlington result makes a bit more sense now.

What was the match like?

We only got three tries so no bonus. Saw most of the match, not the prettiest game I've ever seen. Athy had to do some huge defending in the last 20 minutes or so, kept Port out again and again. Athy were moving it wide and Port were doing more picking and driving, our outhalf kicked some great penalties and conversions which I thinkn was the difference on the day.
New Ross to come next.......
