It came down to a penalty shoot out with Longford landing their kicks while Monkstown missed a couple of opportunities. Ref had a decent game, scrums were a bit messy so he carded two of the props. Monkstown will be at the business end of the league come spring.
Food afterwards was delish. :D sore bodies today. See you in Sydney Parade Spoofer
It was a pleasure to have ye, an old style club with a lot of class both on and off the field. I'll definitely make the trip to the leafy surroundings of SP.

Any truth that Garda have withdrawn from the league? And would I be right in saying the result for that is demotion to the bottom of the Leinster leagues?

I'd heard last week that they had pulled out, but then they played against Tullamore at the weekend so not sure what the story is. Can't be any use to either them, or the opposition to be getting their asses handed to them every week. On the flip side dropping them into the bottom league handing out cricket scores to the bottom clubs ain't going to help either.

Are they missing key players that they expect to get back during the season?

Waterboy by all accounts they had a large exodus over the summer, not to return. Valid point about dropping to div 3 only to cricket score every team they play. Not sure what the branch can do.

Well to be fair you wouldn't be going too wild, Tullow are on top form, Ashbourne (having played them) and imo are strong, and Wicklow are riding high so they are not entirely impossible outcomes.

Hey Wicklow,

Could say the exact same for yourselves. You guys are scoring and seem to be finding your feet, there have been serious changes here of late but defensively we are solid, I think it will be a great fixture as it has been between the two of us over the years. If you ask me to call it I am going to say home advantage will tell. But looking forward to a great fixture.

I was at the game, and i left very disapointed. We left it behind us. In fairness to Monkstown they defended well and took the try well. but other than that we dominated. We missed 6 kicks in total and probably should have scored a try from a pushover scrum(maybe even a penalty try). But no sour grapes in the end we only have ourselves and the few costly individual errors to blame.

It was frantic indeed, the missed penalties hurt. You have a great side, the return will be tough I have now doubt. Port at home this weekend, you should take that scalp.
