Re: Schools Rugby 2013
Some good matches in that draw I fancy Roscrea to cause an upset!
Re: Schools Rugby 2013
Roscrea will be picked as the upset team by a lot of people, but i can see terenure blowing them out of the water in the right conditions.

Terenure to take on Roscrea at Tallaght Stadium in new departure
In a new departure for Leinster schools rugby, the senior cup quarter-final between pre-tournament favourites Terenure College and Cistercian College, Roscrea, will take place at the Tallaght Stadium on February 19th.
The most interesting game will undoubtedly be Clongowes Wood against St Michael’s in Donnybrook on February 22nd, as it is a repeat of the 2007, 2010 and 2012 finals.
This is the first year of an open draw after each round and means one of the perennial underdogs, Newbridge or CBC Monkstown, are guaranteed a semi-final berth.
Blackrock face Kilkenny in a repeat of the 2007 fixture, when the latter belied odds of 80 to 1 to reach the last four after a dramatic replay.
Quarter-final draw
(All kick-offs 4pm)
Monday, February 18th
Newbridge College v CBC, Monkstown, Donnybrook
Tuesday, February 19th
Cistercian College, Roscrea v Terenure College, Tallaght Stadium
Wednesday, February 20th
Blackrock College v Kilkenny College, Donnybrook
Friday, February 22nd
Clongowes Wood College SJ v St Michael’s College, Donnybrook
All games will be televised live on Setanta Sports.

Re: Schools Rugby 2013
Newbridge were poor enough in the 1st half 48 bjillion knock ons & the like. Grew into the game in the 2nd half, dominating territory and possession.
Loose head carried well and was impressed with their openside, halfbacks and left wing (when he got the ball)
CBC were good too, started very well and perhaps deserved more than an 8 3 lead at half time. Scrum half also v good. Team was bigger Their tight head looked about 27 years old. 12 was large and fairly handy.
Newbridge blew a peno to go 9 8 and momentum briefly shifted back to CBC when they made one of their few 2nd half visits to the Newbridge half.
But Newbridge came back at them and more than deserved their win. very thrilling game in the 2nd half.

Re: Schools Rugby 2013
Joe Darcy, 2 tries today and 2 tries in the last round.
Eoghan McKeever is the 27 year old looking prop, who is actually 18 and been in the Leinster under 19 squads.

That's gas. a guy I know has a son with the same name. when I saw his name in the u18 squad I thought it was him.
Not a very common name
Big strong and mobile guy.
The sub prop for newbridge was a monster but not that fit. their tight head moved accross to when he came on.
I think they have a draw after all four games to get the line up for the semis.
Presumably Clongowes are strong this year. winner of them v Michaels will be looking good.
