Schools Rugby 2018-19

Post by backrower8 »

Does anyone know when the draw for the Leinster Schools is taking place? It was this Monday last year, but I can't find anything about it online.

The Leinster Schools Cup Committee seems to operate under the law of Omerta. Never tell anyone unless you absolutely.

Michaels going through a bad run, lost to Blackrock and now to RBAI, 6-3 at the weekend.

Two one score games. No harm. Keeps young players grounded in build up to the cup.

I was at the match with Rock. Could have gone either way. Both teams very good, but no special talent on show that day. In fact Michael's twice turned down penalties to draw the match and Rock did very well two snaffle both resultant lineouts against the head.

RBAI aren't a strong side this year so Michaels really shouldn't be losing to them.

If you say so. I know nothing about them. For me that is one bad (3 point) loss as opposed to a 'bad run'.

for this michaels side losing 2 of 3 games is a bad run.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

Two losses in a row does not make a 'run' by anyone's definition. Are you saying this was a 'LWL' or a 'WLL' scenario?

Well done the Leinster Branch. After Marys & Terenure got separated in the AIL, something had to be created to keep the "D 6 Derby" alive and kicking. A double dose wasn't expected but they'll be happy in the Dropping Well and The Goat!

Newpark beat Fintans. That's a bit of a surprise.

For the real 'old-timers', the St. Mary's V Terenure game on January 27th is a repeat of the Senior Final of 50 years ago - one of the best I ever saw - with Mary's winning by 10-9 with two converted tries from their centres Andreucetti & Grissing. They both went on to play Senior (adult) Cup rugby that season I think.
