Tony Ward continues to make himself look like a fool again, Gonzaga are gonna be a very tough team to beat this year

How come no one else here is talking about the schools rugby games this week? I thought Clongowes were very good today

Old Wesley and Kilkenny should be an interesting game tomorrow but I’d expect Kilkenny to win based on the talent that I’ve seen in their team, haven’t seen much of Wesley this year, I know Kilkenny have a Leinster u18 representive called Charlie Tector who should be playing 10 tomorrow he’s one to look out for

Clongowes were good but limited in size. They have an unbelievable belief though which keeps them in games.

Terenure looked the better team in the first twenty camped on Clongowes 22 and had a few flung wide passes stuck they could have been up by 21 points in those first 20.

Clongowes defended with character and stuck in the game and eventually doubt started to creep into Terenures heads by about the first 10 mins in the second half.

When Terenure eventually scored after about 30 mins Clongwes came straight back down regathered the kick off and scored a try from it.

It was clear from the way they played as a team that they had no intention of losing even though Terenure did all the wide fancy stuff.

They have to be favourites now along with Michaels and I'd say a few heads were turned by the belief they have.

Good assessment of how that game played out. Terenure lacked precision in passing in attack and lost belief in their tackling as Clongowes stuck to their carrying & support, which they executed very well.

St Michaels JCT beat Belvo yesterday with 10 no. 2nd years in the 23 man squad

At one stage there were 8 second years on the pitch and 5 of them in the pack

Rock look nailed on for the junior cup this year (with Zaga and Pres Bray in the mix also), but the current second year crop in Michaels looks like it could potentially be the strongest the school has seen

Pres are out.

Rock will walk this.

Who are the 2nd years who started for michaels? Doubt they'll do aswell as current 6th years.

The left wing, inside centre, scrum half, no. 8, open side, tight head and hooker are all second years

Replacement blindside, second row and hooker are also second years

They have a bunch more second years on the J2’s and they don’t look out of place either

Unlikely they’re big enough to trouble rock this year, but they’ll likely be very good next year ......

Belvo also had a lot of 2nd years aswell, the 12 for Belvo (Andre Ryan) was the best player on the pitch and he was only in 2nd year, Belvo should of won it in the end but an unnecessary offload didn’t go to hand and cost them the game

They certaintly aren’t anywhere near as special as the current sixth years as the current sixth years beat top school sides by over 100 points when they were in first year. They have no Chris Cosgraves in their year but the 13 for Michael’s nearly got a kick from 40 meters out just before half time but it went wide but certainly had the distance

It should be between Belvo or Michael’s for next years Junior Cup as both had a lot of 2nd years in the team and of course Rock will be a tough team to beat as they always are but don’t know how many returning players they will have

2,7,9,12,16,19 and 20 are all second years and am unsure on a couple of others.
1,4 and 10 all subbed last year as second years.
The 2nd year crop is talented but don't think it would be on par with the 6th years.
12 is Chris Cosgrave's younger brother.

Very surprising considering they beat rock and Michael’s in pre season and were meant to be favorites...Rock are gonna walk the cup now

Fancy Michael's, Belvo, Newbridge and Clongowes to go through.

Best chance at upset is either Castleknock today or zaga tomorrow.
