I have a kiwi woman ref apparently on sat, anybody here ever have her ref a game? Just to know what to kind refereeing to expect (not start anything else). Was a bit surprised when i was told

A woman ref what is rugby coming to these days. You mite as well submit a complaint right now :lol:

she was the best ref we've has this season Didnt stop us getting hockeyed though :cry:

There was a severe shortage of refs this weekend. The J4 blitzes got cancelled (think the J3 ones were as well).
12 Leinster refs were involved in European matches so refs were filtered upwards... thus leaving the lower leagues "refless". There's an absolute dire shortage of refs at the moment and it needs to be addressed ASAP.

Get your whistle out, man.

We've been told over here that there are 30 or so registered refs in Southern California, and there will be 40 games on some weekends during the season, so some teams are going to have to do without on matchday weekends. Clubs who have more registered refs will be looked on more favourably. Sucks, really.

It's a possible option....

WRT clubs being looked on more favourably if they have registered refs, that's certainly the case here. However, younger people are being put off becoming refs due to the fact that the adjudicating panel send out their little spies to monitor their performance and some of them get completely crucified for making small mistakes so they literally go "fcuk you" to the Branch and hang up their whistle. :?
