Montane and they are hiring some good coaches elsewhere for a change. I think they're trying to make the setup far better and up to other schools standards but with PK as principal who knows how much money is being pumped in, maybe this year though they might do something they've threatened to do a few times.

When Keating joined CBC he said that he would make "more sports available" to other students so they would have "a greater choice".
He seemed to change his tune after some dismal performances in the cups and in '91 CBC had over 100 first year students - 4 classes instead of 3. That team were hot hot hot favourites to win the JCT in 95 if I remember correctly when LM was coaach but they didn't win and bombed out in the semis - so long ago at this stage.
Don't think he took a front seat in training after that - he was certainly hot favourite to take a greater role with the SCT. Amazing considering that when he joined CBC in '87 - the 1st years had to teach him the laws!!!! Fantastic fitness coach though.

Very interesting, Kelvin Leahy played once for Ireland against the All Blacks in 1992 where he broke his ankle. He was a savage back row & would be a great forwards coach for CBC. He would also have great connections, which would be very helpful for specialised coaching.the economist wrote:Nigel Osborne may be the backs coach & rumored Kelvin Leahy( played for Irl a few times. wing forward) forwards coach. The parents of the squad are trying to raise a lot of money. PK still does not know the rules. Monty has full control and realy wants to run the squad on a very pro. basis.
As for PK, he certainly had no interest in rugby in the 2 years that I spent in his regime, it was in fact the opposite he was quite anti rugby. So it would make sense that it is the parents who are driving this not PK.

Durban High School 12 v 57 Leinster Schools
After the big win in Newlands on Saturday against Western Province, there was a fear that the Leinster Schools players may take their eye off the ball against High School opposition.
Durban High are one of the top schools in South Africa with an outstanding winning tradition.
The fears were put to rest early on in this third tour game. From a line out in the 3rd minute the forwards impressively walked the home pack back 20 metres for a push over try.
This was followed in the 9th minute when from a short penalty the ball was moved quickly to inside centre David McSharry to carve through the home defence to draw the cover and put his centre partner Ross Williamson in for a well taken try.
In the 13th minute Leinster counter attacked wide on their left wing, the ball was quickly recycled and moved the full width of the pitch for right wing Neil Hanratty to run in from half way for an excellent team try.
19-0 up in 13 minutes Leinster relaxed slightly and Durban HS showed that they too could attack and their out half found a huge gap in the Leinster defence to put his wing away for a try.
Leinster then regained their composure to score three opportunistic tries before half time. The first was in the 28th minute when from a loose line out tap back resulted in openside flanker Richard Bent swooping on to the loose ball and showed an amazing turn of speed to pull clear of the defence to run in from 40 metres out.
This was quickly followed by another turnover by Durban HS and they were cruelly punished when Neil Hanratty was put away from just outside his 22, he easily outran the home cover defence for his second try.
To put the 40 pts on the scoreboard by half time the Leinster scrum put in a huge effort to pressure the home pack into losing control of the ball, scrum half John Cooney was the next player to stride in from 60 meters out in the 33rd minute as he pounced on to another loose ball.
In the second half Leinster were playing into quite a strong wind, they dominated possession but struggled to make their superiority into more points. They score three tries in the second half as the coaches made mass changes in the second half. The first try was in the 19th minute when the backs combined to put full back Mike Keating in for a superb try.
The second try was probably the best of the game when the backs executed another move that put Neil Hanratty clear through the Durban HS centres. He in turn moved the ball on to Noel Reid who put fellow substitute Ray Crotty over for a great try.
In the dying minutes Dominic Ryan capped an impressive display with a try after he dived on a loose ball over the Durban HS line to complete the scoring in the 33rd minute.
This was a more complete display by the Leinster team. All the 26 man touring squad have made massive contributions to the three game winning streak.
This Saturday at 1.30pm (12.30pm, Irish time), Leinster face the formidable Natal Sharks Under-18’s in Kings Park, Durban. This game is effectively the second test of the tour against quality South African opposition. The game will be the curtain raiser to the Natal Sharks v Blue Bulls Currie Cup game.
LEINSTER SCHOOLS:
15: Micheal Keating
14: Neil Hanratty
13: Ross Williamson
12: Dave McSharry (Ben Woods)

Don't get too carried away, the top 50 schools players in SA are in camp with SA schools at the minute. Leinster are playing weakened schools and provincial sides at the minute. The results are what they should expect to be getting.....
