Are you absolutely sure? I remember him and his dad hugging like madmen on the pitch and could have sworn that was after the pres game. Anyway, must be losing it...

The O'Sullivan guy is a front row. Not sure who the outhalf is. The longer you're out of the school, the less you hear...

Bourke-Flynn played that game. Pres would have one it but they lost a fullback (their best player) after 20 minutes and his replacement after about 40 Its not as if they have strenght and debth. They lost by a score including a bocked clearence kick. Roddy Carroll, the Pres outhalf played and is playing again this year as did Robin O Sullivan.

King's Hospital out today against Clongowes. Here's hoping the boys can pull off a big shock against our big rivals. Weather not looking too good though - bad news for our young(ish) pack.

After the fright Belvedere got on Saturday (against s Terenure side few expected much from, according to the press), proves this campaign could be the most unpredictable in years. A King's win will put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Pres Bray 10 - 26 St. Michaels

No complaints, beaten by the better team. Michaels had more individual firepower - much bigger in the pack, a more composed outhalf. Not much cohesion though - they won't win anything this year. Game was closer than the score suggests - Pres had to take risks chasing the game in the last 20mins and Michaels got a try in the last play of the game.

CBC 24-0 Columbas

CBC Dominated, Took them a while to get into their stride though.

Fair play to columbas they did play well when they had ball in hand, But CBC stole lots of lineout ball and won the scrum against the head a fair few times...

7-3 to zaga.

happy enough with the michaels win, didn't think the ref was giving us much of a chance. pres were decent when they got the chance to move the ball but michaels were far more aggressive

Yes I thought the ref killed Michaels to be fair.

feel a bit sorry for pres though, there better than a first round team, just a bit unlucky with the draw. noticed in the papers that reggie is one of the coaches, didin't see him though, can you verify this duff?

Is there still a plate competition?

He was at the match anyway - not sure how much coaching he's done. Richie Murphy and Bubbles still involved too. Think the main coach is Tullamore RFC's coach - don't know him.

afaik , if you get knocked out in the first round you go into a plate competition, this was the case a few years ago anyway

CBC-Michaels match is going to be brilliant, repeat of JCT 1st round 3 years ago when CBC came out on top in crappy weather. Michaels aggresion really impressed me and Noel Reid too, didn't look like anything fazed him. CBC are definately not playing anywhere near their potential, dropping balls which shoud be scores ect. CBCs kicker was excellent today in fairness, much improved on league. I think it'll come down to a score between the two, could go either way.

Is it Marys-Zaga now? Zaga will give Marys a great game, could be close. Oh and Rock-Clongowes looks set to be tight aswell.

Its great to have such open cometition and similar strenght between the schools this year

Its Roscrea, they beat Andrews 5-0

Ye saw CBC and Michaels on tv. CBCs pack are absolutely huge, all 3 back rows are starting for leinster so pretty damn good and the front row is disgustingly big also and I'm not exaggerating. They destroyed the Columbas pack but in all fairness Columbas were far smaller, but did well to keep the score down. In saying that though, I was very impressed with the Michaels packs aggresion against a good Pres team. If their captain no 6 is fit they definately can compete, it'll be crucial who wins their own lineouts. I saw their friendly game earlier this year and CBC I thought were better than the Michaels pack, CBC without their captain too, but this is the cup so Michels have improved and their backs look good. CBC have got to stop giving up so many penilties. The CBC kicker was great today and we all know about Reid, who kicks better will be crucial.

That cbc hooker is massive, and the tight head too..
The loose head isnt the biggest but he hits like a train, well today he did anyway.

And that back row is incredible!! Although 7 Boucher?? Had a fair few knock ons though...

Buntys right they need to sort that out cos atleast 4 definate trys went amiss today due to knockons..

What happened to the Micheals #6?

the michaels 6 is conor o'sullivan- the captain, he was second row on the team last year and is a leinster representative... he's been carrying an injury for a few weeks, and came off with 15 mins to go today. don't think its serious though. who's the cbc 10, what will the battle between him and reid be like?
