Jay - what level in the Leinster League are we talking about? Youths? Juniors?jaybyrne wrote:if you are in a section b school but you have on official letter from the school saying your are not playing there would the leinster brach allow you to play for a club side in the leinster league
Theoretically there are no issues because you have the letter from the school. That would be given to the Youth Co-ordinator and he'll keep it on file.
Dangerous ground to be making assumptions on. It's a legal minefield.i would assume so

The schools pick a squad of players, if you are not in that squad, you can play with your club. However your youth co-ordinater must clear you to play with the Leinster Branch Youths Commouttee.
If however you go on and play a game at any stage with your school it will deem you ineligable to play for your club. Be careful as LM said it is a political minefield.

You have to be very careful. Technically there are only 7 Section C schools and another 9 schools make up the Section C Cup. These 9 schools can change and a school could be classed Section B one year and Section C the next and vice versa. There is the possibility that a school could be Section C at JCT and Section B at SCT and again, vice versa.
As previously advised, safest way is to not play or train with the school at all. If a player really wants to play for his club then he has to stop training for rugby at his school.
It is a ridiculous rule that is trying to save the best players from burn out before they are 18 because as much as clubs say they want to help the development of those that don't play on the major teams, the reality is that they only want the best players.

Not necessarily, if a school qualifies from section A to section B, they are still a section A school. A prime example of this would be Naas CBS who over the last number of years have qualified for quite a few section B competitions & all of their players are still eligable to play for Naas.eoinzero wrote:So, say Marian Js are now in section B, does that mean their players shouldnt be playing for any club??
