Youth Rugby in Finglas/Ballymun

Post by Openside »

Anyone watch Capital D on RTE 1 over the week?

Interesting piece on Unidare RFC and the huge effort they are making to promote the game in the Finglas/Ballymun area. Their U18s are in their first season in Metro Youths rugby and are still in with a shout of the title with two games to go having taken the scalps of most of the big names by now. Great to see so many youngsters training each week in what would not be considered as rugby territory. I understand that they're now fielding U16s and U14s are also being established.

Best of luck to them and the club...... :happy clapper: :happy clapper: :green clap:

Yeah fair play to them. Its good to get that working class element into Leinster Rugby. Some decent players came from Guinness last year aswell. By the way their 18s definatly came second in the league to Wanderers. I think Coolmine were round there somewhere aswell but they disbanded. Anyway best of luck to them
