Excellent post,feel really sorry for some of those guys particularly the ones still playing.This list could go on for miles but Trimble,Quinlan,Miller,Victor Costello and Shane Byrne come to mind.

Tom Kiernan, Mike Gibson, William John McBride, Oliver Campbell, Tony Ward, Phillip Matthews, Ciaran Fitzgerald, Philip Orr, Ginger McLoughlin, Moss Keane, Fergus Slattery, Eric Elwood, Trevor Ringland, Paddy Johns, Conor McGuinness, Mick Galwey, Paul Burke, Mick Doyle, NIall O'Donovan, Philip Danaher, Jim Staples, Terry Kingston, Michael Bradley, Brendan Mullan, Willie Duggan, Dónal Lenihan, Michael Kiernan, Willie Anderson, Rob Saunders, Ralph Keyes. These guys had some good days, some of them had Triple Crowns, Championships and Lions Tours but none of them achieved the Ultimate Prize.

A word should also be said for Higgins, O'Hanlon, McKee, Ried, O'Flanagan, Mullan, Kyle, Strathdee, de Lacy, Corcoran, Daly, Mullan, McConnell, Wilkinson, Callan, Nelson, McKay, Keefe, Agar, O'Brien, McCarthy and McCourt. Feel sorry for the boys visable at the dunne fight tonight - Shaggster and Disco Den - heroes in both Irish and Leinster jerseys - They deserve it as much as the lads in cardiff do now!

Thank you indeed. I am right in saying Mal will indeed get a medal? The few minutes he was on during tourney guarantee that.

Anyone else at the home coming? Was all the way back at Waterstone's and could hear absolutely nothing. Not sure if it was the mic, or the way Des Cahill was holding it, or a problem with the amps. Pity.
