Re: Team of players gone home injured
that is quite the team, slightly unbalanced but would give the team for the 3rd test a serious run for their money!!

Re: Team of players gone home injured
Shanklin would be there too. Possibly have Roberts on the wing in that case.
Agreed though, it's probably a better team (and better balanced!) than the 22 on offer tomorrow.

I put Shanklin on the wing. Couldn't split up BOD and Roberts!claire_m wrote:Shanklin would be there too. Possibly have Roberts on the wing in that case.

I can see your point, but Roberts started on the wing and has the pace that Shanklin doesn't quite have.crisco10 wrote:I put Shanklin on the wing. Couldn't split up BOD and Roberts!claire_m wrote:Shanklin would be there too. Possibly have Roberts on the wing in that case.

Still, it's all a bit of fun!

Shanklin! Cheers, I couldn't for the life of me remeber who it was that D'Arcy had replacedclaire_m wrote:Shanklin would be there too. Possibly have Roberts on the wing in that case.

Re: Team of players gone home injured
I thought Hines was suspended for one week?
[He'd be an excellent signing for Leinster].

Is it too pedantic to point out that Quinlan wasn't injured?
Also, you could consider players who may have made the initial squad but for injury tho' I can't think that far back tbh.

you. pedantic? never!Grumpy Old Man wrote:Is it too pedantic to point out that Quinlan wasn't injured?

I guess pre-tour injuries you'd think of Peel (who I'm pretty sure was injured), Wilkinson (well, he always is!!!), the Evans boys (at least one of them, at any rate!) Apart from that, my mind isn't what it once was...

oh far too pedantic!, I thought he couldn't go because he hurt his finger?Grumpy Old Man wrote:Is it too pedantic to point out that Quinlan wasn't injured?

(bet I get in trouble for that one)
Re: Team of players gone home injured
Would it be a stretch to call Wilkinson as someone who missed the tour due to injury and add him on that basis.
Flutey missed most of the tour but stayed on. Could try putting him 10.

Re: Team of players gone home injured
In shock transfer news Bakkies Botha has handed back in his Saffer passport and has declared for Scotland on the Grandmother rule, somewhat like Nathan and Riki and has declared his interest in being flown out (ok, that's pushing it) as emergency cover for the SR injured/suspended Lions.....
Sorted.

Toby Flood was playing well for Leicester before getting crocked. There's the option of Cipriani too.claire_m wrote:you. pedantic? never!Grumpy Old Man wrote:Is it too pedantic to point out that Quinlan wasn't injured?

Wasn't Strokosch struggling with a knock during the year? I'd have a fully fit Moody over Worsley too.
