Listening to it at the moment and it's kind of eerie, like a ghost-ship radio station...

Just some usual blather, but called the station 105.2 not Phantom. I just got a shock that anyone spoke at all, I just thought it nothing but music on an automated program.

Pity they won't live up to some of the quality they're playing on the loop right now!

Considering its Caddell, I'm guessing that its probably an album oriented show

Yeah, he is my favourite DJ (in terms of music played), always had his show on, so two hours a week is quite a drop. The one that really frightens me though is three hours of Joe Donnelly every afternoon.

Great, they've relegated their best DJ to a Sunday evening show.

Txfm shutting up shop in October. Was a big fan of phantom, not so much Txfm. Sad that the market can maintain umpteen stations playing the same shite and no traction for anything "alternative" (really hate that word to ascribed to the genre).

Sad to see it go, even in the state it was in it still had some good shows. Songs in the Key of Life was a good listen always, Souled Out was enjoyable and funnily enough, despite what I said above, Joe Donnollys show wasn't that bad - Keith, it would appear, was the problem there.

I'm mostly concerned about Charlotte Flood - who will take her in or will she be forced to return to the poverty and deprivation she came from, in Coventry.

Really sad that an "alternative" or indie music station doesn't appear to be sustainable. TXFM was just a shadow of what Phantom was but even Phantom was a poorer version of its original pirate operation but it was the only listenable station out there. For the life of me I can't tell the difference between 2fm, fm104, 98fm, q102, spin is the same but skewed younger with just headache inducing music.

sounds like Nova might step in, be interesting if through a similar business plan and some shared services for cost reductions they might be able to get it going again. Be great to keep John Cadell on the air and bring back the two pete's talk rubbish and some of the other old school phantom dj's

Music choice has improved massively since the announcement. The doors followed by dj shadow. first time I listened to the radio in ages. Would agree with dc, I pretty much abandoned the station after the last shake up, but Joe D isn't that bad at all.

They haven't made a bid. There hasn't been an application for the alt-rock licence at all. The BAI board is meeting this month to discuss the situation
