Wasps V Leinster Jan 2015
What do people think the odds are of this one being moved to the Ricoh Arena ?
Was thinking of going and getting ahead of the curve with booking hotels flights etc.

Adams Park as per our ACC game. Why does the OP think Wasps would play a home game in Coventry? They move their big games to Twickenham, seeing that they are a "London" club, and this is not a big game.

Because Saracens played Munster there in 2008? Who knows?Hornet wrote:Adams Park as per our ACC game. Why does the OP think Wasps would play a home game in Coventry? They move their big games to Twickenham, seeing that they are a "London" club, and this is not a big game.

Fingers crossed they move it then. Another night in High Wycombe doesn't bare thinking about (plus that million mile walk to the ground itself).Hornet wrote:Adams Park as per our ACC game. Hope not. Plenty of great places to stay, eat and drink within 15 minutes drive of the ground. (The free accommodation I get helps as well).domhnallj wrote:Fingers crossed they move it then. That was the S/F HEC game, when Nigel robbed Sarries. Spent the game watching some Munster fans going as red as their shirts as Rog bottled it.johng wrote:Because Saracens played Munster there in 2008? Looks like they're moving to Coventry in December.

Picked up a room with Pitch view at this place : De Vere Venues At The Ricoh Arena Even has a casino (fairly apt) "Situated in the Ricoh Arena, on the outskirts of Coventry, De Vere Venues at The Ricoh Arena offers modern rooms with pitch views. Guests can also enjoy use of the casino.footrush wrote:Thought I was being smart and picked up a flight from Birmingham to Dublin on sun 25th for 19.99 its gone down to 9.99 now a*&e.FR669 20:25 21:35

Spacious rooms at De Vere Venues Ricoh Arena feature floor-to-ceiling windows with balconies overlooking the pitch. The 4-star rooms also feature flat-screen TVs, living areas and free Wi-Fi access.
Singers Bar and Bistro at De Vere serves an international menu and drinks list, and features large-screen TVs. Cooked breakfasts are available daily, and the lively G Casino offers beverages and snacks.
Just a 10-minute drive from Coventry centre, the De Vere Venues at The Ricoh Arena is a mile from the M6 motorway. Birmingham International Airport and the NEC are both a 20-minute drive away."

Bus from Coventry Bus Station. Been to the Ricoh twice for HEC games. (Northampton/Wasps and Saracens/Munster). Stadium is in a pretty horrible area, (built on the site of a former Gas Works). Has all the charm of somewhere like Parc y Scarlets IMO.

Re: Wasps V Leinster Jan 2015
Agree went there for the Saracens/Munster semi final after watching London Irish loose to Toulouse in Twickenham the day before, its a souless dump, still much easier to get to from Dublin than Wycombe Wanderers ground. Stayin in that hotel might be a laugh if we filled it ?.Hornet wrote:No rail link to the Stadium at present.footrush wrote:Picked up a room with Pitch view at this place : De Vere Venues At The Ricoh Arena Even has a casino (fairly apt) "Situated in the Ricoh Arena, on the outskirts of Coventry, De Vere Venues at The Ricoh Arena offers modern rooms with pitch views. It's 3.5 hours door to door for me so, given that it's a dump, I'll probably drive down on the day. Pity about missing the banter though.

Lets just fill the Ricoh Arena
Booked Saturday night at £50 (€63) for free cancelation. you can get it for €57 with out the cancelation option
we can make our own fun
Plus, if we have 1,000 in the stadium, more of the "Locals" might stay in that area too

Re: Wasps V Leinster Jan 2015
Hopefully because it is an Ospreys sized stadium, they will try to market the cr@p out of it, sell loads of £15 tickets and have tinie tempah playing at half time
It might be quite gloomy to only have 8,000 people in a 32,000 stadium

Once they don't play "stand up for the Saracens" I don't mind.mtleinster wrote:Hopefully because it is an Ospreys sized stadium, they will try to market the cr@p out of it, sell loads of £15 tickets and have tinie tempah playing at half time

Phew glad I never booked those flights to london !!!
Got a few of the €9.99 specials into birmingham.
I can see a few of those hotel bookings at the Ricoh being cancelled or moved to non pitch view rooms, don't they use them as the corporate boxes on match days. Don't think the corporates would be too happy with a few hungover lads sleeping in their "box"
I think the do the same thing at upton park and the make you check out really early on match days too.
