Delighted for Roscrea, Rock did them in a thriller last year.

Sooooo......the semi-finalists are CWC, Newbridge, Roscrea & CBC/Belvo.

Only one Dublin team/day school left. interesting!

Roscrea's heavy recruitment from Munster/Connact and Leinster youth rugby pays off.

Probably would have said the same about cwc rock or Michaels at various points. Belvo probably the "best" of the 3 remaining teams ok.

Delighted to see a school outside the traditional big six win the cup. Roscrea are a powerful side with a massive pack. Newbridge backs were all over them in the semi but the Roscrea pack just about gave them enough.
I understand that Roscrea did some very serious recruiting of a champion side from Portlaoise RFC AS well as others from club rugby. The best club players have often been recruited by the rugby schools which is no bad thing as a rule, but i heard the portlaoise side lost six players to Roscrea. Maybe I'm misinformed but if that's the case it is a little OTT.

Heard something similar, that a number of the students, in a relatively small school, were on rugby scholarships.

As a Belvo old fart, disappointed with result but no question Roscrea were the better team and fully deserved win. Good for schools game too that there's a new name on the cup and it's not just one of the big six as usual. That Roscrea no. 8 is a monster - looks like a fantastic prospect - presume he'll be picked up by one of the academies

They've recruited heavily, no coincedence that such a small school numbers wise has such a big pack.

He's part of the Connacht underage teams so will probably go into their academy.
