E-mail notifications
Has there been a change to the way e-mail notifications work? I've noticed that since Thursday or Friday, I haven't been receiving notifications of new posts on threads to which I'm subscribed.
Is this a general change, or did I manage to change my settings while drunk?

Re: E-mail notifications
Seems to be working again, as I've started getting the mails again since about 9PM last night.

Also, I just got one for your second response, but not your first.
Thanks for looking into it; I thought it had got fierce quiet round these parts.

Re: E-mail notifications
Every now and then I start getting a flood of these despite not subscribing to them, anyone know why?
Usually it just stops but when they went on for quite a while recently I investigated and saw that I was subscribed to a load of them. Deleted them all but then I got one this morning and saw I was subscribed to the Academy thread. Any ideas on how to stop them?

To to "User control panel", select "Board preferences" and then "Edit posting defaults". On that page set "Notify me upon replies by default" to No.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:Every now and then I start getting a flood of these despite not subscribing to them, anyone know why?

At least that's my best guess.
You'll Alsoneed to unsubscribe from any threads you're already subscribed to under "User control panel", "Overview", "Manage subscriptions".

Re: E-mail notifications
Thanks, I'd already done the second part despite not subscribing in the first place.
Turns out the first part is already set to "no" though. It's not a huge deal if you can't think of why else it might be happening. I can just block the address if needs be.
Thanks again.

Re: E-mail notifications
Try setting it to yes. Hit a few threads and then go back and set it to no again.

Re: E-mail notifications
That type of thing happens all the time. I have a customer who has issues with office 365 every so often wher the apps disappear from the online portal for a user.
You go on to the admin console. Remove their access to the apps. Turn it back on again, and you are good til it happens to another user a few months later.
Just a variation on the "turn it off. Turn it back on again" that fixes 68% of all computer problems

Re: E-mail notifications
Thank god you're not an admin on here, I really don't want to have to ask you to turn me on.
Thanks again!

Re: E-mail notifications
I'm getting them again but when I check my subscriptions it's not showing anything so there's nothing to unmark.
