He always claimed Motorhead weren't metal, but to many like myself they will always be seen as the pioneers of Thrash and for that I say thank you

Here is the recently deceased (a few months ago) James Last covering what I think is Lemmy's first hit, and one of his biggest. The brass section do his lead vocals.

The man is, was, will be, a f%~king legend. Total legend.

The closest I can think of to a personal story is a guy I knew when I was growing up was pretty good at drawing and he gave Lemmy his leather jacket with a picture of him that he painted on it. Lemmy took a look and said "that's not right mate" and scribbled in the mole on his face. Then signed it.

Geezer.

Lenny was the bass player, wrote songs for them too, and sang the lead vocals on silver machine. Got sacked for doing the wrong drugs! Well ditched when he got busted. I think the speed was in the sax players horn. Tour of North America and they just ditched him.

Motörhead was actually a song he wrote for Hawkwind iirc.

Lemmy f%~k you autocorrect. The classic lineup at their hard riffing drug sniffing finest*

*as alluded to above this may not be true: they didn't sniff drugs. Well, the bass player did.

Very sad to hear Lemmy died. He was failing for a while I heard, turned up to receive an award in November using a stick for mobility. Gave Overkill a spin yesterday, Great stuff.

I did and probably much like the autho, I can't remember a thing other than he was wasted for most of it.
