Plata o plomo? That's what the only question you need answer.
I presume you're joking but in case you weren't and to clarify that I wasn't being a dick, I just meant that the name indicates there's actually a grand plan for it continuing, not just that it was about Escobar and was only meant to be for one series which they will then flog because it was a success!

I'm not that sensitive LRiP. Particularly since I threatened you with death in the post above!

Ooooh touchy.

I don't speak Spanish so thought you were offering me a plate of plums...and found it offensive.

It's a great line from Escobar, when a cop refuses a bribe he says "no, you can't say no. Plata. O. Plomo." Silver or lead. Bribe or bullet.

On a similar theme I was shocked and disgusted by Sean Penn in Rolling Stone and his interview of El Chapo Guzman.

Show Spoiler:
he shoots the interview in portrait! Portrait video! Disgusting.

Wolf Hall is spectacularly good. Don't be put off by the fact its a period yoke.

Mark Ryland (who just did Bridge of Spies with Hanks off the back of Wolf Hall) is outstanding.

Don't think I'd seen him before Bridge of Spies and he was absolutely brilliant.

He was a stage actor before Wolf Hall. He is worth watching the show for alone. He is brilliant. As are the lighting and lots of other things like that.

I had a nagging feeling, and watching the director and Rylance talking after it kind of confirmed it, that the director missed the point of the books. Which is mostly predicated on a dramatic irony between Cromwell's image of himself as presented in the narration, and what a f%~king monster he was, and just what a visible, obvious f%~king extreme monster at that, he was from everyone else's perspective.

Rylance's job was to present a sympathetic portrayal.

Tried to watch Wolf Hall but couldn't get past Damian Lewis chewing the scenery.

I thought Lewis was quite good (surprisingly), Rylance was outstanding.

Wayward pines anyone?

I'm on episode 4 debating whether to persist, it's typical shamylan fare, but the cliffhangers make me want to keep going. Is it worth the effort?

Watched it when it was on FOX. Kind of weird, but not a bad watch. Stick with it IMO.

Mr Robot. Some of the techy dialogue us pretty shite but the casting is brilliant, the story engrossing ............... I'm 7 episodes in and really enjoying it.

Edit: Finished. Highly recommend.

New X-Files is so bad that it's almost a parody of itself.
