You'd hope their size wouldn't be a barrier but it very well could be.Flash Gordon wrote:Think he might have had that already and he's already taller than his parents. Obviously hope I'm wrong, particularly as both are really nice lads.goreyguy wrote:Yeah he is in TY and is pretty small like Larmour. Turner's only in TY isn't he? I also saw him on crutches after a previous Irish appearance. The kid has it for sure, his size may be an issue as he moves up the age grades.

Re: Age Grade Interpros
Apparently there will be under 20 camps this summer but no interpros for the 20's, instead there will be a development interpro series to include most academy players.
However that will work I don't know, also not really sure the point of it.
If academy players are playing ahead of the most promising u20's, how are they going to get gametime?
Maybe it's just sub-academy teams?

Re: Age Grade Interpros
A lot of players pulled out of summer training with Leinster 20's.
Heard it's mostly down to players feeling that it's too much of a time commitment for no financial reward. Many choosing to work for the summer instead.
5 days a week for no financial reward is asking a lot.
Michael Milne(u18), Jack Aungier(u19) & Hugh O'Sullivan(u19) training with the u20's at the moment, I expect a few other lads are too, to make up numbers for those who dropped out.

Re: Age Grade Interpros
Many of the u19 & u20s are Leaving Cert year. It is crazy to expect LC students to go from little or no training for a couple of months followed by a couple of weeks of post-exam partying, come back from Shagaluf in early July and expect them to be ready for full on Leinster matches within 3 weeks. That is a recipe for an injury plagued season in my opinion. They would be much better off working on their S&C and do a proper pre-season with a club team.goreyguy wrote:A lot of players pulled out of summer training with Leinster 20's.

People complain about skills not being as good, you want players to progress and this is clearly felt as needed for progression. But what else would you like to happen.El Diablo wrote:Many of the u19 & u20s are Leaving Cert year. What do you propose that is better than this?
You want the levels of these games to be as high as possible. What do you change to improve things from where they are now?

1: what in all tarnation is an under 20 doing in his leaving certain year?
2: there should be an element of physical activity while studying
C: at less than 20 years old any healthy male should have the requisite recovery levels to be there or thereabouts after three weeks from a cardio vascular POV
IV: if taking this seriously any youngfella would prob hit the gym 3 or 4 times per week even on holidays, so they should be meaty enough after Shagaluf. If they don't then they're prob not really that interested anyway and prob best suited to AIL or junior level rugby anyway.

Re: Age Grade Interpros
For the 2016/17 season, to be eligible to play U-20 rugby you need to be born on or after 1 January 1997. Therefore I'd wager that the majority of those eligible for U-20 in the coming season have just finished their leaving cert.Oldschoolsocks wrote:

Both 18s sides will play Northampton in next few weeks. Any other warm ups scheduled/known of?
