It was far worse under MOC, Girv definitely improved it and the A team have been doing it consistently for years. Not saying it's perfect, but it has definitely improved.

Said this many times before but I thought a bigger problem was the lack of pace and power out wide. I don't think the technical aspects were as lacking as the ability aspect. Certainly at the start of the season we had improved on the running sideways shite from the two seasons before but then we regressed as the season went on.

The example I used then and will use again now is think of the number of times we put Isa or Kirchner away down the wing but then the move would die.

Interestingly, I think the first noticeable thing that has come from the Graham Henry input is that Leo and the management team appear to be more confident and ðecisive in setting up the team in how they want to play.

It has been evident already that the aim is to play a quick tempo off loading game, and the team selections so dad have reflected this. It's as if Henry has said don't be afraid to back yourselves and don't be afraid to make a mistake. Hopefully the players will pick up on the more positive management vibes and we will see increased confidence on the pitch.

That'd be my reading of the pre-season too.

In the summer of 2016 he got the call from Leinster, and was hired by the Irish province on a coaching consultancy basis to help mentor their young coaching staff. He loved his team in Dublin.

"I was at Leinster for two weeks so they had young coaches who had been thrown in the deep end," Henry says. "They wanted to share ideas and talk ideas. I really enjoyed it. Leo Cullen as the head coach, Girvan Dempsey was the assistant coach and Stuart Lancaster had joined them, he'll be a real asset.

"They're young guys and had huge experience of playing at the highest level but not much coaching experience. So we had a chat about sharing ideas and talking about the games. I really enjoyed the players. Leinster had a real ability and depth of talent. They were pretty capable, so I enjoyed the experience."

Well- that's what we were to him. I can't get mad at that.

All the coaches and most of the players say he led to a disproportionate improvement in his few weeks here.
