They have to go to Cardiff and Dublin, we have to go to Cardiff for our only hard away game

Gatland confirmed.

What a sh!t sandwich for the Lions. Choosing someone Irish fans hate to coach a tour to a country where Irish fans have not forgiven or forgotten speargate is spectacularly thick.

Does anyone outside of Wales like Gatland?

I was about to ask the same thing, the fact that you've got the inside track in Scotland means that that's two countries that aren't happy anyway.

Cant see any Scots starting for the test side, Ford and Nel have a xhance of the bench, JGray and maybe Hogg will tour and thats it

Unless we have an injury crisis that game will be epic

Tom Youngs - always been a hero of mine. I used to love seeing his name on the teamsheet when England played Ireland.

currently 4th choice for England? Best didnt make it last time, Welsh front row stocks are fairly weak, token Scot value

was reminded of this earlier, for their vaunted 'partnership' the 2 welsh centres didnt pass the ball ONCE to each other in the third test

How's Cown Dickie looking these days? Haven't seen any premiership (despite EE giving me free BT sports for my device).

No, Gatland(ball) isn't rated highly over here. I'd be amazed if he could name an entire scottish match day squad.

Part of the problem is the perceived "ignoring" of Scottish players (personally I'd argue few were good enough).
Last tour- Hogg went and came back with a massive ego and terrible attitude. Took a season and dropping him from the Pro12 final to sort that out.
Richie Gray went- at the time should have been in with a shout for game time and got very little.
Maitland went- why?
Grant was called up (at the time was in good form), got lots of splinters and has never really been the same since.

Ford should be nowhere near an international team of any sort and how he has been for as long as he has is a mystery to everyone outside of murrayfield.

Personally, The Lions is nowhere near the best players representing all 4 countries. It will be Wales plus token others to make up numbers. In this day in age I struggle to see what relevance it has. I'd rather the players got a decent break and were looked after a bit better.

Forgot about George, all better than Model T. I'd take JHW ahead of him.

Ford's stats are really good

Maitland went because he attended the same school as Gatty

Laidlaw playing for Scotland is a far bigger mystery

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Probably.

Absolutely!
