Why did they remove the u20 interpros? u20's who trained all summer to play in them were dropped for academy players.. its a joke.

If they wanted the academies to play each create another set of interpros for players over 20
More game time for academy players together is a good thing is it not. 20s players will still have been screened and looked at as potential players for future development.
Wont there likely be less 19s playing up at 20s/development/academy level which will strengthen the 19s interpros??
Academy players play together in training thoughout the the season and with the A team, they are now playing with u20's, players they won't play again with unless those u20's join the academy down the line.
20's players have been screened countless times, they sacrificed their summer to play in the interpros, now many of them have been discarded. That's not how you should treat players.
The 19's chosen for 20's level did not drop down to play 20's so no it did not strengthen the 19's. Anyway those 19's have trained all summer and deserve a chance to play in their own interpros, not have their spots taken by players who missed out playing in their own interpros because of academy players.

You can spin this whatever way you want, it's a bad thing for the majority of the u20's.

Leinster 19s beat Connacht 36-7. Leinster pulled away in 2nd half when brought on bench but even enough game until about 45 minutes or so.
Ulster should win 19s interpros next weekend as they play winless Connacht. Leinster host Munster with winner to finish 2nd

2nd round of club interpros today
Schools interpros. Munster are 3 wins from 3. Leinster are 1/2. If Leinster beat Ulster next weekend they set up winner takes all with Munster for the final weekend

Good positive development happening in the midlands. It's probably going on in the other regions too.

They have introduced training at regional level for lads who might not have made it/been picked up when original regional squads were picked (14/15). This is for lads who are 16/17 and there will be "county" games with say Longford/Westmeath playing Offaly and I believe Kildare are also involved.

I have seen lads missed before and it's good that this has been recognised and a mechanism put in place to pick these lads up at a later stage.

Yup that's good to hear.

Are the county game just for lads missed by original squads? or will it be the lads who have progressed through earlier squads plus these new players?

at least 2 leinster youth players chosen for Ireland u18 - Conan Dunne(Prop) and Morgan Purcell(Wing)

seems like the will be keeping ireland u18 the same with two sides, apparently one of which will be travelling to portugal at some stage.

Have you contacted Branch yet? Isnt Dermot O Mahoney admin so he'd know if its not up on website. Schoolsmasters handbook used to be published on the leinster website but hasn't been for a few years...

u20 interpros apparently not coming back this year, same structure as last season.

Poor decision, hopefully Leinster field a largely u20 side.

The U18 Schools Interprovincial Championship will start with a bang as Leinster, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, host Munster at Donnybrook on Wednesday (KO 3pm).

The format of playing Munster and Ulster home and away – Connacht have decided not to commit a team to the competition – should give all three of them a chance to progress through the series.

Each province will have a squad of 26 and each player must be given at least one start in a rule that is similar to that of the FIRA European U18 Championship.
