The central banks of the world have been printing money like it's going out of fashion that's why the cost of living will increase.
An increase in the cost of living is their stated aim.
The EU screwed us and Britain and they'd do it again given half a chance.
Now they've got to deal with someone who won't do their bidding or be their slave.
Enslavement is what the current version of globalisation is all about.

If this sexist, xenophobic, racist, divisive lunatic offers you hope I really don't know what to say to you.

Doesn't matter what I think the American people have decided they want to take their chances with a merchant rather than a politician.

BTW that's capitalism your bemoaning not globalisation.
The fear I have now is that the democrats point all fingers at Barack, their first Black president and his supporters as being the reason they are so distanced from their "real" Americans.

The black vote didn't get out and vote for Hillary or so it appears.
OBAMA looked annoyed in his post election speech so he realises that somewhere along the way the ball was dropped and maybe senses what you are saying will be the case.
There was no way I could see Trump winning this election, the fact that he did goes a lot deeper than our media would have us believe. "Stupid Americans" being a typical commet. How dare they be so arrogant and dismissive.
Something is rotten in American politics and imo this is a vote of desperation by the American electorate.
All we can hope is that Trump is the answer, Hillary certainly isn't.

Re: Congratulations President Trump
Agree with all that bar the last statement, yesterday's vote was an anti government vote. Think this result will hasten the need for a national conversation about the political system.
The media I read didn't really grasp the mature of the event, but my wife tells me that a lot of the "gossip rags" we're on point with the majority of the voters.....
I'm holding Simon Cowell responsible for this result.

Without giving any reasons or examples of why etc. I'm asking do you think a POTUS with a neo mercantile outlook wrt trade will do anything other than try to exaserbate that situation (as you see it) in his and maybe his countires favour?Enslavement is what the current version of globalisation is all about.

He's left the Democrats in a very sorry state. Control of no part of fed govt. Less state legs and governships and very few rising stars in the party.Peg Leg wrote:Your missing my point, I pity the developing country's that never felt the benefit of the global market.

His approval rating is still 54-57%. It'll probably go up as the economy tanks.

Government debt in the US has doubled in the US during the Obama years - TBF Bush set this trend.
Hillary would continue this trend.
At some point in time that chicken will come home to roost.
Without any real confidence I hope/think Trump will try to slow down the trend. Two examples.
He says he is going to repeal Obamacare because American can't afford it.
Hillary was promising serious funding for third level education,.
But and this is the problem where was the money going to come from.
Maybe the electorate realised one was possible and the other wasn't.
