Let Us Compete was an IRFU campaign against Eamon Ryan's attempt to list certain rugby rights, which would have cost irish rugby a fair few bob as they would have been devalued by being encumbered - the banner was used only two or three times IIRC. All four provinces and all (then) three supporters clubs participated.

You say that, but if the makers of the Doom video game stepped in, you'd be pretty happy about it.
The Stadium of Doom. I like it.

The Carlsberg Coliseum would be pretty cool too.

The Ironman Arena.

The Ford Fortress.

Any other good suggestions?
Well we are supposedly called the Leinster Lions, so maybe we could get a certain tea company to sponsor it & call it "The Lyons Den" :D :D :D

Ah getcha. I had assumed it was a really bad battle cry, not a political statement.

That was the point I was trying to get to. The money is gone, any new deal now would have had to happen anyway.

Bloody stupid inability to make an argument
Ok, I think we are on the same page.

One of the many ironies of the Limerick Hacienda is that if the original renaming plan had gone through, 15 million for 10 years, they'd be looking forward to another bucket of cash in the near future.

Hopefully they can generate a good atmosphere at the new stadium. I always found too many people here turned their noses up at manufactured noise, instead preferring endless renditions of LEINSTERRRR LEINSTERRRRR LEINSTERRRR and the cringeworthy Allez les Bleus. This is pure class, I don't it matters what you make of the sport in general. Japanese baseball is a bloody good time - https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 6101256398

RDS Redevelopment

Anyone know when the RDS redevelopment is actually going to start construction? Also, is work only being done on the Anglesea Stand or is anything else happening?

This time 12 months it is due to start but only if we get world cup and government kick in with their grant. No problem if we get World Cup will be a problem if we don't. I would say we are 80% likely to see work go ahead after this season but who knows!!

Has it been out to contract yet ? Building costs are up substantially as materials, mostly steel have risen dramatically over the last 6 months.

Same ould shite out of Dawson re the RDS

http://www.independent.ie/sport/rugby/g ... 49967.html

About 10 years overdue now. The tenant attracting the funds so the landlord can build the house.

On the plus side, sounds like Anglesea stand is phase one of a bigger project the RDS intend to cash in on.
