I don't believe that. Leinster get payout for RDS and it's right as it's best solution available. Also IRFU are goinf funding Connachts plans. So it is showing loyalty to all teams. On NIQ signings. These aren't really an issue as they're literally playing for peanuts. Taute and Kleyn are reportedly on €60k per year. That's very small. Marshall is on less.

You've to factor in these guys are getting more than home and some it's like a first pro contract. Look at Marshalls story for instance. That's all they're on though. Admittedly there is probably bonuses but that means value goes up with success on pitch. But it's commonly known down here they ain't on what you thinkneiliog93 wrote:I don't believe that. Sorry we get that too. Priority on ERC knockout and free to all B&I Cup. Think free to all A games is because MRSC funds academyneill_m wrote:The Ulster one includes 3 European group games, 11 Pro 12 games, a pre-season game and a B&I Cup game. Those salary figures are not credible. Taute is an international and Marshall and Kleyn both had S15 experience. I'd need evidence.MunsterSugar wrote:O think Paddy has shown he hasnt6a clue. Provinces mostly got the same investment, Leinster spent it better.
Leinster and Munster have very different player development and commercial/ticketing arrangements. Munster got both wrong: they neglected the academy and didn't solve the split training bases problem when they had the chance. Thomond was oversized and built around large terraces of cheap tickets and boxes and commercial packages. Season tickets were managed very unconventionally and built up the big events at the expense of day to day operations. Given the huge differences in demand and the way that tickets are sold through clubs it still seems odd that Pro12 tickets are so close to European matches in price.

Taute has said it he was unwanted in South Africa. Kleyn was cheap option. And Marshall was set to pack in rugby when call for Munster came.
I can 100% say they aren't on money your thinking.
On 2 bases etc that did harm them and academy wasn't functioning to its full capabilities as Leinster got theirs right. No point denying that.
On Thomond Park. The hope when it was built was it would become a top conference spot in day to day operations too. It is 1 of top around but well downturn in economy meant not as much business conferences were happening.
On ticketing. They've actually got this right and nobody complained on pricing of tickets here. More so the marketing of it and the packaged deals eg for people buying a ticket for Leinster at Christmas had to buy 3 game pack incliding a Zebre or something.
On marketing/commercial side. Your right Leinster got it better. And spent wiser. But equally that helps by fact ye were in a more successful time also. Like if this was in the 02-06 era it'd be reversed too in terms of demand. And that comes back to neglect of academy. We depended so much on guys in that era that when they eventually weaned out we had 4 Paddy Butlers to 1 Peter O'Mahony whereas Leinster were and still are producing more good than bad.

Re: Munster 2016-2017
Munster season ticket holders are 3rd class citizens. It's closer than it was in the past but they should be 2nd class. (1st being 10 year and hospitality).
Simply put, if you buy a 10 or 14 game package you should be first in line for the best seats and for knock outs. It's costing Leinster and Ulster so club members get good seats at a decent price for only the big games. Professional sporting teams don't normally have ticketing arrangements like this let alone charging €50 for the right to buy a season ticket. In some cases season ticket holders pay more than the cost of the individual tickets.

The seats issue. A MRSC member gets to pick their seat at start of year. Some are mixed in with 10year deal which os up next year. And they get to keep this seat for any knockout if they wish. Hospitality get worst seats unless they're in the boxes.ronk wrote:Munster season ticket holders are 3rd class citizens. It's closer than it was in the past but they should be 2nd class. Dave Foley off to join his fellow Munster exiles at Pau.
Surprised Leinster didn't look at him given their longstanding difficiencies at lock.
Kleyn's neck injury is rumoured to be much more serious than stated.

Munster seem determined not to use their existing pool. O'Shea could have done with a few games.

DO'S is Nagle#2. Big game against the NZM and that's it. Has been shown up badly in the P12z
Mads#2 has the ability if he could only get & stay fit.
MS: - Got any more info on Kleyn injury?
P.S. Munster gave 19yr old Wycherley the guts of a quarter away to Cardiff recently and he did exceptionally well. Much better than that bluffer Copeland. Don't see too many other provinces backing locks that early.

Foley out for the rest of the season. Added to Kleyn, Chisholm could end up getting a look in here.

Really? Where is Dougall going to next? I assume Coughlan is retiring?by ronk

Munster have signed S.A. international Jean Deysel as a medical joker for 3 months'. Good for them.
Re: Munster 2016-2017
Nah, they have loads of 2nd rows, they're more likely to sign one.

Re: Munster 2016-2017
Looking forward to the return to club rugby.
Munster have to take 5 points from this game, and get some players up to speed.
From the Irish contingent I can only see Conway getting a run, but maybe POM might start on the bench.
With the number of injuries, it will be hard for Munster to gain some consistency over the next few weeks, but hopefully they can progress to the semi in Europe and get a home semi in the league.
Once they get into that position anything is possible.
