Maybe Molony if he can cut out that missed tackles etc.

Re: Leinster Senior Squad 2017/2018
Last season the priority was signing enough to have a team, e.g. Henshaw, Nagle and JGP.
This year we've been able to build. I don't t see us having much in the way of a pressing need in any positions but there's a huge hole coming up post RWC at fullback.

Henshaw Carberry come to mind but that could be a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Kelleher maybe?
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

It's 2 years, Larmour could be in the running, we might sign someone if there's no one.
We probably need a hole before we can fill it, history often works that way. Macken was the guy who was going to fill BODs shoes but it was only after he left that Ringrose bolted into the gap left by Te'o

Hopefully he sticks around.....
Before last November’s autumn tests, Schmidt rang Ross to say he would be trying out some young blood in Chicago and the three home tests. If an emergency arose, he’d get a call, but it was time to look forward.
“It was nice to get the call, I’d known the man a long time, nearly every medal I won, I won under him,” Ross said.
Tadhg Furlong filled Ross’s boots well in Chicago, doing what Ross and others before him had found impossible — beating the All Blacks.
The veteran prop couldn’t have been happier for the young buck. “I remember watching him in 2013 or 2014, he was playing against Cardiff,” he said. “You’d see flashes from him and I was thinking ‘sh!t, I’m in trouble here’.
“He’s a really good guy, we’ve a great relationship, we text each other a fair bit, we talk, he pops over for coffee now and then. I feel pride. A huge amount. It’s funny, it’s like a big brother, little brother kinda relationship, I’m trying to keep him under my wing. He’s done really well.”
After making the step up to test level look easy, Furlong experienced the tougher side of life with defeats in Scotland and Wales. Ross is certain Furlong will learn the required lessons.
“I said to him the other day, he’s going to find it more difficult the longer he goes on because teams will have more footage of him, they’ll figure out stuff, that will make life more difficult, and he’s going to have to evolve with it. I think he’s well capable of that,” he said.

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014
Ruddock(c) 19/2 Tackles

Surely will... Leinster would be mad not to get him into a coaching role straight away.. maybe starting at academy level.paddyor wrote:http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/rugb ... 5806.html#

More jobs for the boys needed.

Yeah Ross clearly doesn't have a club about scrummaging technique.

I'm a big fan of promoting from within while at the same time bringing in additional outside coaching expertise. I'd like to see us add Ross and Nacewa from our current playing pool.goreyguy wrote:Yeah Ross clearly doesn't have a club about scrummaging technique.

Re: Leinster Senior Squad 2017/2018
On Mike Ross and his technical scrum knowledge, a few years back at the B&I cup final in Donnybrook against Jersey (I think?) we were getting hammered in the scrum early on, Ross and a good few of the senior squad were watching the game in the stand and Mike walks down to the barrier, calls over the water boy and gets a message to him, water boy runs on and gives the message, next scrum is rock solid, the one after that we completely reversed the momentum and started to hammer them.
Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

Re: Leinster Senior Squad 2017/2018
it sounds twee but Ross strikes me as someone who would absolutely love being that kind of a technical specialist coach, and not just for the video analysis and presentation possibilities, and passion/committment for something does help

Not sure what thread to stick this in, but anyone hear that James Ryan was with the senior team and kitted out at the England game?
Would be some vote of confidence in him if true!

Re: Leinster Senior Squad 2017/2018
that strikes me as training with rather than being part of the squad (which is something they do a lot with players of that age/ilk); cant see Roux or Toner being overlooked for someone with no caps and no games for 6 monthswixfjord wrote:Not sure what thread to stick this in, but anyone hear that James Ryan was with the senior team and kitted out at the England game?

He's injured at the moment though right? Slightly different to bringing in guys like Ringrose etc. Positive for the guy in any case.simonokeeffe wrote:that strikes me as training with rather than being part of the squad (which is something they do a lot with players of that age/ilk); cant see Roux or Toner being overlooked for someone with no caps and no games for 6 monthswixfjord wrote:Not sure what thread to stick this in, but anyone hear that James Ryan was with the senior team and kitted out at the England game?

We seem to be doing well without a scrum coach
