LeRouxIsPHat wrote:Ah it was a fantastic game. The second half wasn't as free flowing but the physicality and general quality were superb. One of the most enjoyable games I've seen all season, particularly loved watching Clermont defend in the last 10/15 mins. They threw absolutely everything at Toulon but Toulon just kept coming. They showed no sign of wilting or bottling it though, great to watch.
Agree with this. But first half was much more open. Awesome first 20mins in particular.

Really hope that happens but I feel (no evidence for this) that they'll get away with a fine, maybe a points deduction for next season, and potentially a one-season transfer ban a la Barcelona or Atlético Madrid.

Think of the medical jokers Munster could get from that relegation firesale

Would be afraid that comic book guy would walk away from the club if that happened

Comic book guy has apparently cleared it up. False dawn!
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

I await yet another multimillion £ loss and a few more unsecured loans to cover it.

The barrage reaches the semi final stage this week (KO Times - Irish Time):

Friday 25th 8pm Montpellier (1) v Lyon (5) Sky Sports Action (407)/TV5Monde (717)

Saturday 26th 3:45pm Racing 92 (2) v Castres (6) Same TV Channels as Friday's game.

Both games being played in Lyon which was announced some time ago, so it means Lyon have home advantage v Montpellier!

Pity, was hoping Racing would make the final so we could brag about all the teams we beat in Europe making their home finals.
Kinda ruined in now.

Don't think so. Believe Motpellier will win to stand along Saracens and we'll have bearen both English and French Champions in year in which we won our double.

Castres win well against Montpellier 29-13 with possibly the worst performance by a favoured team in any rugby cup final since the game went professional. Pienaar was complete muck and missed kicks, passes and tackles. But he was in company with World Cup winners, All Blacks and a former French captain, none of whom showed any leadership or fight.

Vern Cotter's record in French rugby finals is without equal, on the negative side.

A poor game but another great triumph for traditional French rugby and another Brennus for Castres. No sorrow for Antrad or the money-men. Hearts conquer chequebooks.

Paddy Jackson's debut for Perpignan not going so well. They're 3-29 behind after 35 mins at home to Stade Francais. On this viewing it's going to be a very tough season for them. Parisse just sent off for Stade though.
