Jayny mack, the season hasn't even started and the givin out's already in full flow. How's about we keep things positive and give the Pro 14 a chance? http://www.southafrica.net/za/en/articl ... -elizabeth

When I lived in PE we used to go to work in a convoy protected by heavily armed 'security contractors'. It may have improved since but I'd make sure my K&R insurance was up to date before I travelled.

No need to stay in PE itself guys, which I agree is a bit grim. Worth considering might be some of the outlying towns such as Kenton or Port Alfred.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dave. I'll get on to Eric Prince before I head down, see if he supply me with some kinetic protection.

Now there's a surprise! Dyncorp & Feinberg are currently hoping to make a killing - pardon the pun - if Prince gets his plan to privatise the war in Afghanistan green lighted by Trump....

To bring the thread back on track...I'm thinking of going.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

Not sure yet, still figuring out the travel details. I'm down that way anyway and it's just a short hop.

It may not be quite as easy to get to but something tells me it won't be any worse than Llanelli or Newport.

I will probably go as due to visit friends in Jo'burg. Really liked the seafront area around PE when we were there for the Ireland Summer Tour last year.
The stadium is a bit away tho... taking in a game park or Capetown between games would be goo.

It is worse way worse, very industrial town and plenty of no go areas, might be fine if in large group but you wouldn't be venturing to far from your hotel or the stadium if staying in PE

PE is fastest developing port in SA. Given it's population mix and geographic location on coast of Indian Ocean, nobody can be surprised it's no tourist trap. But the development towards the northern boundaries is significant and the stadium is excellent. Not where you'd go for a 10 day break but many excellent holiday locations within 60 minutes to the south on the garden route.
