Yes it does appear to be correct, Donald is getting married in January so can't see him heading half way round the world and back again for that.simonokeeffe wrote:Swankyscentofgunpowder wrote:Lealiifanosimonokeeffe wrote:We still on Donald or is there a different rumour now?

Lealiifano sensible enough thought as it gets him back into playing and leaves him with the possibility of heading back for Japan RWC
Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
If Lealiafano recovers his best form after the illness, he'd be a great signing. Beautiful player to watch.

Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
Short term deal for Lealiifano confirmed. Heading back down under in Feb for Super Rugby season.

Well it's a start and all we can hope is they get someone else to take his place or season ends when he goes home.
Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
With the new set up, surely a 3rd place finish in the conference and a defeat at Munster/Ospreys/Glasgow in playoffs......

Starting to worry about our new 10 Christian Lealiifano, after the initial press all has died down and it is starting to look like there is some problem with this.

Rumours of insurance problems.Peg Leg wrote:Contractual or player?
Not sure how much is speculation or genuine knowledge though.
There is also a bit of a queue for visas into UK so that is a other potential problem
Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
Well our first run out shows we are severely lacking in the half back area. Not sure when we get Cooney but have heard that it will be 3rd match of season as there is an Irish get together before that.
Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
Will be interesting to see if they get someone else lined up after that.

Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
Well done to everyone for sorting it out anyway.
I actually think they should try and get Marsh as back up for the season too. It would mean some continuity for the season and if we were desperate we could call him back.

I heard that was suggested but went no further.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:Well done to everyone for sorting it out anyway.

Cooney and Deysel start for Ulster tomorrow
Coetzee on bench which is great news
Have Ulster any injuries going into the season?

Schalk van der Merwe, Ross Kane are carrying injuries, Darren Cave and Rob Lyttle haven't appeared at all in pre-season, so they mustn't be fit either - also Sean Reidy.simonokeeffe wrote:Cooney and Deysel start for Ulster tomorrow

Not as dire a roster as recent seasons, touch wood..
